"Brutally delicious Addison Cain's writing blows me away each time " Anna Zaires, New York Times bestselling author They call me brutal. They call me unrepentant. They call me possessive. I am all these things and much, much worse. But for her, I will be as gentle as a lamb. She's afraid, so I will comfort her. She had no understanding of our unbreakable bond, so I will take my time. Her body requires touch, so I shall lavish her with my strength. My mate will know nothing of the monster I really am. The Golden Line is a dark, sinister Omegaverse romance for those with twisted tastes and a love for delicious villains. I’ve liked other books set in this universe but this one was not up to par. Didn’t care for the hero or heroine. It took way too long for the hero to even show up. And after he did they spent a substantial amount of time apart. I’ll probably go on with the series. And I am really looking forward to sequels that should be coming for the two other series this author has going in this universe. I’d rather see those than more of this series. ( )

I felt too long was spent before she met Simin. We spend almost half the book with the other Alpha's, I would have liked this part of the book to have been briefer and possibly filled in on what events took place there by her relating it to Simin in her 'courting'

Oh my, this was worth every single minute we had to wait for this book. I couldn't wait to read it, and the very second I could, I did. And it was worth every time I wanted to cry from the want of this book.

Morgaine is an Omega who gets taken by a terrible Alpha who wants to have her as his own. He does what he can to break her, and then to buy her. He tries so many things to break her and there are so many terrible things done to her, including having her caned because she wasn't showing proper respect. But when Simin sees her, everything changes. Not just for Simin, but for Morgaine as well.

For all that Simin is an Addison Cain Alpha in an Omegaverse book, he's different than some of the others we've seen. That doesn't mean that he's not still an Alpha or that Morgaine isn't still an Omega, there are just differences. They are good differences. I'm going to enjoy spending the time reading this book and any further books to come and comparing them to the other books in Addison Cain's Omegaverse series. ( )

Just when I think that this author cannot get any better, she manages to prove me wrong again. I seriously need to quit challenging myself. Seeing this book on my kindle was like an early birthday present (my birthday is in a few days). Life ceased the moment I discovered this book and started reading. I found myself yet again drinking the potion and falling down the rabbit hole. I need her words like I need air. When I first learned to read and learned the power of imagination, I never in my wildest dreams thought my imagination would be filled with an Omegaverse world. Silly me.

The way that this author creates a world and flirts with the dubcon is truly sublime. If I close my eyes I can picture every scene from the ships down to the nest that the females create. Her words are the sweetest drug. I am entranced and spellbound in the way that she weaves her story. I am both in awe and slightly horrified by what I am reading and that therein is the magic of this gifted author. Her words are disturbing juxtaposed with sensual. When I read her work It is as if I am always seeking the mellifluous sublime.

This book gave a new perspective to the Alpha and Omega world. For the first time, we see a character who no matter what does not fall into the typical acceptance of the Alpha and Omega pair-bonding. Simin is a new male character and one that I highly approve of. The things he does to show his feelings for Morgraine were sweet. That isn't to say that he doesn't have typical alpha urgings but he is aware of the need for a connection that is not forced. Morgraine. Sweet lord. This girl. In typical fashion, she is another worthy female in this amazing author's vast array of warrior women.

There are hot steamy moments (I might have had to turn the AC on.)#noshamehere. I am not sure what it is about how this author depicts these moments but they make me all tingling and flustered. I find myself mumbling out loud quite often, "sweet Jesus" or "Holy titfire" which often gets a laugh by those around me. #Thestruggleisreal.

If you find yourself loving the Omegaverse world and twisted, gritty, and titillating is your thing balanced around a fantastic story then this should be a must-read. The segway into what the next book has me waiting with baited breath. ( )

Oh my friggen god I bloody adored The Golden Line (Knotted,#1) like so much.
Just when I think it can't get any better than my previous Addison experience I get this little gem.
I don't really want to share this; nope nope nope.
I want to keep the delectable delicious Simin and all his deep grumbly purrs all to myself; he's not yours girls; This Adorable Alpha is all mine.

Okay okay, I suppose I'm being greedy trying to keep Simin all to myself I can share the love if I absolutely have to.
So this was really a tale of two halves for me; one of which I entered rather blindly.
I really was quite literally in the dark towards where this was ultimately heading.
Experiencing alongside Morgaine her frightful treatment at the hands of her Alpha tormentors.
I was there as they broke her with there unapologetic conditioning and as she hit rock bottom my heart hurt so much for this poor confused and traumatised girl.
Frantically looking around for someone to save her I was losing all hope.
That was why it was so special to see Simin take a step out of the stereotypical box and attempt with his whole entire being to rebuild Morgaine's shattered psyche.
To come along and take this supposed feral omega for himself but also to actually see her as an individual and person in her own right was bewitching.
So this one for me; had as ever everything that I usually find captivating and hypnotic when it comes to this authors work.
All the usual magnetism you'd expect was still produced but this was alongside a much more softer overall approach when it came to her Alpha than we are usually given.
Don't mistake me Simin is as Alpha as they come but he also came with the ability to place his omega at a much higher importance than his own needs and wants and it was magic.

Simin understood the best way to gain his omega Morgaine's heart was ultimately through her trust; he had her lust but as his end game he wanted her soul also.
He was much more romantic than his predecessors and was not afraid to voice his feelings but rather than emasculating him it only enhanced his overall allure.

I also think taking away the ability to communicate through language and only through an interpreter brought a new layer to Alpha and Omega expectations.
Much more care was taken considerably on Simin's part because of the lack of verbal cues.
It made it much more crucial to observe the non-verbal signs in each other.
So this had everything you would usually expect from this series but with such a difference in approaches than what we are usually used to.
I have to say, I'm equally a fan of both ways.
I also loved the finale here; where it left us, on edge and salivating at the mouth for that next anticipated instalment.
I feel like I am poised, waiting, breathe bated in expectation; the scene has been set with such finesse.
Addison Cains omegaverse universe is fast becoming one of my all-time favourite series I can't get enough of it, whatever light the participants are portrayed in.
So before I go I should mention that this is an extended reworked story from the Royally Mine anthology that was originally titled Consumed.
That was a short story that is no longer available; "The Golden Line" is now a full-length novel and has been extensively improved on.
This is a series I can't recommend highly enough and gets my whole-hearted seal of approval every single time.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of "The Golden Line (Knotted,#1)" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
