Everytime I think I knew where this book was going, nope, it went the other way. There is lies, suspense, love, hate, and of course steamy goodness. Kandi and Huxley...Kandi should have run. just sayin. This book had me up all night reading, and I loved it. It was spellbinding, and kept you wanting more. Oh my!!! Seriously, I always love every word Smith writes, but this book just swallowed me whole. From the moment I opened the cover, to the final page, I honestly did not put this book down. I was in love with everything, from the forbidden nature to the utter consuming passion these two shared, even if it was wholly dangerous. The characters are phenomenal. The two mains have been created with a level of detail that truly gives them a life of their own. They were easy to get to know, connect with and even find that I was drawn to them and their conflicting natures. The tension and desire between them was palpable, making it hard to resist another chapter, as I was desperate to know where they would go and how far they would or could take things. I loved the pace, as it was perfect for building those moments that were so desperate and juicy that I had to continue reading, followed by moments of darkness or slowed tension, where we got to see the aftermath of two such people being together. I also loved the time give to our leading lady, to be able to find herself, even in such a dangerous situation, and become a stronger woman. Overall, this book was beyond perfection. I adored every page and just know loads of readers will fall for it as well. Just be wary, as you won’t be able to sleep until you’ve finished!! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
He was forbidden, my boss and incapable of loving me.People talked about him, whispered about him in passing. He was the king of his town. And I was a visitor.I was by no means a smart girl. Never loved with my head, always with my heart. That fact alone almost killed me once.I should have listened the second time around. But the king of this small town, had me starving. Had me craving his taste. My name is Kandi, and he called me his Kandiland. The king declared I was his medicine, and with each dose, he became better and better. He was the perfect liar. And I was his perfect Kandi.Together, we were explosive, and toxic in every way. Very interesting book that shows the power of love. This author has a different writing style than I have seen in other books. In someways I really liked it and in others I struggled. I have to think on this more before I write more of the review. ( )
