The story starts with Kurt observing a crab boat motoring suspiciously through the park. He follows to make sure it is not illegally fishing within the park boundaries. He follows it to one island where the boaters are working at getting drunk. They are all inked up like gang members and wearing colors. He observes them lose something off the back of the boat.
He returns to the island the next day only to find the crowd is screaming over a dead man on the lighthouse. He calls in support from the Dade County sheriff to assist with the investigation. The victim is a gang member. Kurt searches for the lost item that the boaters could not find the night before while the crime scene techs work the case. It turns out to be a duffle bag full of drugs. An FBI agent had come out with the Sheriff's crew and took control of the drug investigation. The murder was left to Kurt to solve.
This is another quick interesting murder mystery with a few side issues. I highly recommend this book and the Kurt Hunter series to anyone looking for an entertaining quick read. ( )
