Holden is a drama queen and I loved him for it. Nice flow, likable characters and a decent plot made the story a success. ( ) *There are spoilers in my review, but the blurb told me little to nothing. Based on that, this could've been an office romance. So if you want to go in blind don't read this.* Holden works for his father's company, doing medical research. He worked hard to get where he is now, of course he is a Prescott, so that was expected of him, and his father always pushed him. Daddy is very demanding. I'm just gonna say it, he's a real asshole. So when Daddy gives a task to Holden to go and retrieve his old partner-in-business, he's not even surprised about the 'or else' that accompanies the order. At that point in the story I thought it a bit over-dramatic. Surely, the man wouldn't cut off his son completely if he fails to make a deal with his old partner. He wouldn't be that cruel. Gage left New York and his company 2 years ago and settled down in a small Alaskan town, Sawyer's Ferry. The hospital is small there, and there's not much action, but he likes the peace and quiet. When the sexy guy at the diner keeps staring at him, he considers a sweaty night with him, but then Holden had to go and open his mouth, saying he came with an offer on behalf of Philip Prescott, the man Gage hated. He was so done with NY and the Prescotts he wasn't even willing to hear what Holden had to say. Holden however wasn't about to give up, he's whole life depended on the man. I loved that part of the story the most. Holden pursuing Gage. It was funny. I bit on the enemies to lovers scale. Then there were the hot, sweaty scenes. It's a light, smutty, fun read, that I enjoyed a lot. The ending was a bit rushed, and a little cheesy for me. But overall it was great and just what I needed. Looking forward to Logan's story. :) Poor Holden! The book started with me really feeling for him. His father was a grade A jerk, and really held is life and career hostage. As frustrated as Holden was with his father forcing him to go to Alaska to try to get a doctor to return to the firm, it was the best thing he could have done for Holden. Gage left NY years to get away from Holden's father, and he has no intention of returning. He also has no intention of liking Holden, but after they are forced together for a day, they find that there is good chemistry and enjoyable conversation. I liked watching the relationship between Gage and Holden blossom. There was a lot of uncertainty between them because of the temporary nature of Holden's visit, but I liked how they were able to work things out and communicate when it became really necessary. I also loved watching Holden take control of his own life and com into his own. I felt for the characters and was so glad to see them find happiness. I would love to see Frankie and Logan get a book-either together or separately. I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC received by LesCourt Author Services sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
