He & Evans confront the most heinous of individuals who seeks revenge which puts their lives in the crosshairs. ( ) I've always liked the camaraderie of the officers in this series. Most police procedural writers put all their cops at odds with each other pretty much all the time. Any alliances are purely political or for expedience's sake. This is pretty refreshing, but this time I think it's gone over the top. Supposedly they're all experienced cops and I've read the previous books so I know they've seen some horrors, but now they all seem to be falling apart. That's extremely weird. One or two, sure, I can see burn out and PTSD happening, but across the board they all seem to be fraying and it's just not realistic. It's also gotten a bit touchy feely with lots of use of people's names, deep emotional conversations, side-tracks into the emotional states of even the most peripheral of team members. It's a bit much and I hope it doesn't stay like this for the rest of the series because the crimes themselves are always interesting, although with this one there is a bit too much inference and guesswork that leads to the next sure piece of evidence. The previous books seemed more methodical. DI Jackman’s sister-in-law Sarah - a loving wife and mother - has disappeared. Her body is discovered and CCTV proves that it was a suicide. But Jackman can't let go, he needs to know why. DI Jackman, with Ds Evans start to investigate her life. And what of the suicide of a woman from a nearby village, is there a connection and what to. Another good, well-written and interesting mystery to be added to this series with it's likable rounded characters. Received an Advanced Reader Copy sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
