The author has given us a wonderful PI by the name of Eddie Shoes, and from the get go we get non-stop action, and you have to wonder if she going to make beyond a few chapter.
Now this is the first book by this author that I have read, but it was so good and so enjoyable, I’ll be getting my hands on the others. I know there were things that I missed in the previous two books, but I didn’t feel at all lost as the author updated most everything.
If you love a really good mystery, and surprises abound, I never guessed the ending, this is a book for you!

As I began to read the book I had this thought in my head. I felt like I was standing in front of a painting looking at the mountains as a car carefully climbed up the mountaintop. You know that feeling you get at a museum when the picture captures your attention? You can feel yourself understand exactly what the painter was thinking when they put the picture on canvas. I know it sounds weird but the author is so descriptive that I actually could feel myself in the car with Eddie and her mother Chava. What a nice adventure they were going on and I was in the back seat excited to join along.

Eddie's big adventure with her mom at the resort sounds like so much fun. As Eddie begins her hike I thought maybe her dog should have joined her. I know I wouldn't be able to hike as far as she had planned. On her way back, things take a bad turn. Who is the man she finds? Why is he so desperate to find his daughter? This is when the author really peaks my curiosity. After reading the disaster that happens in the mountains, I don't think I will be doing any hiking any time soon.

The story is very intense and leads Eddie and her parents on a dangerous expedition. I loved Eduardo and Chava. They are great characters and do the best they can to protect their daughter. Eduardo was my favorite character in the story. I loved his strong personality and attention to details. He was highly intelligent and had no fear. I felt that with Eduardo and Chava helping with the investigation it made the story more intriguing. The author delivers a first rate story that involves a mysterious compound found deep in the mountains. Eddie finds it hard to get answers from the community , but with the help of her parents they will discover a secret that could get them killed. This is definitely a story you can't put down and will lead readers to an unexpected ending.
