First, a modern-day marriage of convenience, coming up. Ray O'Brien has hit an impasse. He will lose his boxing ring, that single-handedly supports the local community center, unless he marries before his next birthday. Which is soon!Ah, the stipulations of Grandpa's will.
Secondly, Ray's adorable niece is just a wonderful, lovable part of the story. I could imagine babysitting her myself, playing games with her, and just spending time with her. Her personality just jumped off the page.
Thirdly, Katie, the prospective marriage of convenience bride is quiet, yet seems to share surprising parts of herself with Ryan, astonishing even herself. The reader can see God working through it all.
Fourthly, I enjoyed the substance of the story as both Katie and Ryan had to trust God to give them direction. They also learned how to help each other through hard spots.
Several references are made to gluten-free foods. Those who deal with that issue will identify with the emphasis that is given this need.
I recommend this book. I received a complimentary copy from the author, which in no way influenced my opinions of the book, which are solely my own. ( )
