Riordan Malone is more than a bodyguard. As an Elite Ops agent, he's ripped, raged, and ready to rumble--a true warrior, inside and out. But no war zone can compare to the battle in Rory's heart when he lays eyes on the only woman he's ever loved--and thought he had lost forever. As the daughter of a crime lord, Amara Resnova has endured the cruelty of her father's enemies--and has tried to escape that world ever since. Now, she must reach out to the one man who saved her life, even if she's never forgiven him for breaking her heart. But Amara is tougher today than she was then. She's also more desirable to Rory--and dangerous to love. Can he protect her from her father's enemies without surrendering to his own passions...or will love seal their fate for good?… (más)

This review may contain spoilers, so fair warning, upon reading the review.

“I loved you from the first look, before I ever kissed you, before I ever touched you,”

Introduction
Collision Point is the first book in the "Brute Force" series, and this is also connected to her "Elite ops" series, so if you have read that series, you will recognize some of the characters that enter this story. This book was one of my romanceopoly picks and I have to say having read some Lora Leigh this past week, I am quickly remembering why I fell so hard for this author and yeah she has a massive backlist that I need to start working on. I really ADORED this one, it had me laughing all over the place and the OG alpha overtones were so delicious here. I really liked the way that this one was built and yeah it kept me on the edge of my seat and I just loved it all the way through.

Summary
The set up of Collision Point is where we see our characters being in a relationship. In the prologue we have an intense scene, where the heroine Amara, has been kidnapped. She is then rescued by her fathers team and her bodyguard and lover Riordan, but when he is shot and almost dies, their relationship is grounded to a halt. Amara doesn't know why suddenly Riordan drops off the face of the earth or why her father doesn't believe that her life is in danger but she knows that she still has a enemy even if she has lost many of her memories. But there are secrets that those that love her the most are keeping from her, but when her memory returns, will Amara be able to do what needs to be done to keep Riordan in her life?

“Never, Amara. Never in this fucking lifetime will I allow you to remain in danger. Never will I allow anyone to steal this from us.”

My Outlook
Collision Point was such a heartbreaking book at times. We get this intense prologue and then it skips ahead six months and so we have to see this couple that loves each other but are so distant from each other and learning to reconnect and find their way back together again with the added bonus of Amara not remembering much of what they had before except some flashbacks. I have to say I adored both of these characters. There is something so addicting to how Lora Leigh writes her characters and I just couldn't get enough of these two here. Especially in how the hero is so alpha and all the STEAM. If you love a good level of spice in your romance, then Lora Leigh needs to be on your list!!! Her books are so wonderful in writing these elements and they just have such OG feels to them that just pulls you in. My only complaint on the story is the narration and how the hero's dialogue was handled, it was awful. But eventually I stopped noticing but yeah his voice tone wasn't done quite right. The plot of the story really keeps you on edge from beginning to end and its built so well throughout the story to keep you on edge and keep you guessing on who the true villain is and when its revealed oh boy its dramatic but AWESOME!! haha Lora Leigh really put some shockers in this book that seemed to really work so well for me.

“Always,” she swore in turn. “Always, Riordan. I live for you.” It went beyond love. It went beyond death. Beyond heart. The souls of two were bound, until they were indeed one. Feeling with a love outside their own, loving with a spirit bound to their own. Caught within each other.

Overall View
I found Collision Point to be such a delightful intense, keep yourself buckled in because this one will be one wild ride of thrills, sexual tensions, and love winning over all!!!

The first book in the Brute Force series by Lora Leigh is Collison Point. This first book follows Amara Resnova, who is the daughter of a crime lord, and Riordan Malone, who used to be her bodyguard. Riordan and Amara have a secret relationship until she gets kidnapped and both she and Riordan get hurt. You pick the story back up after about six months after this and find out that they are no longer together and Amara is trying to find him because she needs his help keeping her safe from her dad's enemies. Amara does not remember anything from the time that she got hurt and broke Riordan's heart, but can he forgive her and keep her safe? Can Amara remember what she is trying so desperately to block from her mind?

This book was super spicy. The storyline was fantastic and really kept you engaged, but wow those spicy scenes were intense. The twist at the end was spot on and I did not see it coming. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to continue the series with, Dagger's Edge. ( )

Amara Restnova can't remember anything from the past year including her abduction and her lover, bodyguard, Riordan Malone. Amara begins to have flashes and dreams about her experience and that leads her to contact Riordan when she believes that her life is still in danger. Riordan nearly died in the rescue of Amara and he still loves her, so he agrees to return to Amara's home to protect her. Standing in their way is Amara's father, who was once a powerful crime boss, but has changed his ways due to Amara's insistence that he do so if he wants to keep her in his life.
This book is light on plot, but heavy on physical romance. The two main characters can't seem to keep their hands off one another and that gets in the way of the story of Amara's missing year. There are no real clues as to who abducted her and why until the last couple of chapters of the book, making it seem as though the first three quarters of the book served no real purpose in the story. Overall, a disappointing and frustrating story. ( )

OMG another book by Lora Leigh I could not put down. I think I read it in 24 hours because it was so good I just couldn’t stop reading. This is book 1 of the Brute Force series, a continuation of the Elite Ops series. It was nice seeing characters from the original series that I remembered. Lots of twists and turns throughout and I did not see them coming. I can’t wait until the next book is released!

Riordan is an Elite Ops agent that was her bodyguard and lover before Amara was abducted. After her rescue Amara loses her memory but is drawn to find Riordan to protect her after suspicious accidents threaten her life. There's a lot of predictability but also lots of alpha male, 'your mine and I take care of what's mine'. Side note, Riordan is Nathan Malone's brother from the 'Elite Ops' series.
