What a lovely story! Sadness turns into love for both the couple and the orphaned children, but with complications. Old and new friends give their support, and help the human of the pair to comprehend the reality of shifters. There are multiple twists and other surprises as well!
Honey Bear (Return to Bear Creek, #3)
This is one very special book. Sure, it's a romance novel with shifters, but it's a lot more. The shifter is called home from a travel writing assignment on Everest because his human dad has taken seriously ill. The human young woman who is the first local he meets, has been badly damaged by her early life (she feels that foster care was a godsend for her) and has a very negative self image. He knows immediately that she is his mate, and the remainder of the book is a fine rendering of his gentle courtship of her and the many misunderstandings and difficulties along the way. Way different from so many of the overBEARing type of shifter stories. I really enjoyed it!
Mountain Bear (Return to Bear Creek, #2)
Meaningful story about individuals who come together from different perspectives and life experiences. There's the movie star who turned recluse following a jolt to his perception of self, the tank commander who is trying to find herself in civilian life, and the whole community of shifters, their spouses, and even a social worker who is also a dragon shifter! The mated pair find their way, and the whole community benefits. An excellent read which touches on several mental health issues in a very positive way while providing escape for the reader. ( )
