I had been waiting for Aidan's story since he was introduced a book or two ago.....and Dianne didn't disappoint.

Aidan is one of the older Immortal Guardians at almost 3,000 years old. He went looking for love in all the wrong ways. In an earlier book he was discovered to be accessing classified files to try and find a "gifted one" who might take a liking to him. Dana is a gifted one who uses his psychic abilities to earn a living giving "readings".

We still have our Guardians fighting vampires and trying to find their enemy, Gershom, but now something weird is happening....again. Gifted ones are going missing and no one knows why. At first Aidan is suspected of being behind the disappearances since some of the women missing are ones he "contacted" to see if he could find a love match. Hey after 3,000 years alone who could blame a guy for wanting a significant other.

Now Dana has had flashes where she "sees" Aidan fighting against a couple of the Guardians and telling him he won't know who he is able to trust. If you have read the series then you know about their leader Seth....can you imagine Aidan fighting it out with HIM?!?!?! Oh and once again I like that Dana is another strong female type. Smart, quick, and not afraid to admit...she's afraid. At separate times she tranqs Roland and tries to tranq Seth because she thought they might try to harm Aidan. Yes, she because the object of a lot of respect real quick!

The rest of the Guardians are around....and causing mischief. Chris and his secretary are still running the network. Jared is doing double duty. Zach and Bastien are still their warm, lovable selves....NOT! The only sad part to the book...Cliff. The voices are getting louder and more violent. But maybe Aidan is on to something by taking him out into the sunlight....it quiets the voices and gives him some peace for a while. Wouldn't it be funny if it's something as simple as sunlight (with the help of a healer doing their thing at the same time) to help cure the vampires or at least stave off the insanity?

Oh and who else here was surprised that David once had a wife? Did I miss that somewhere? I don't know who the next book is going to center around but I'll be there to read it. Still waiting for Seth to find someone.... I know he told David that even while he "kissed" Dana there was no pleasure just guilt of doing it in front of Aidan. That he still missed his wife after all this time and didn't think there would ever come a time when he would feel that way again about any woman.... oh a man like this HAS to have someone special at his side. He NEEDS her! David needs to have his story told also....I'm might curious about him. ( )

One of my biggest fears when reading series with different main characters in each story is that I won't love the new couple as much as I have loved the old. After 7 books, Dianne Duvall hasn't let me down yet and has made it easy to love each and every Immortal Guardian and love interest she has made come to life.

You should remember Aidan, he is a newbie to our favorite Immortal Guardian family, but he made a big impression when he broke into headquarters to steal a list of gifted ones in hopes of finally finding his better half. It works, but now those gifted ones he has come in contact with are going missing and it not only threatens his standing with his Immortal Guardian family, it also threatens the newly found love he has found with Dana.

I really enjoyed getting to know both Aidan and Dana. Dana handled everything thrown her way in a much better way than I think I would have. Not only was she strong and firm in just about everything she said and did, but she was so loving and understanding. She could be completely scared to death, but her actions were fierce. I liked her a lot. Aidan didn't always make the smartest decisions, but I found him to be extremely loyal and generous. He deserved Dana's love and the Immortal Guardians' trust and he got it. The attraction between the two was hot and they made a great couple.

Like with all the other books in the series BLADE OF DARKNESS was full of action and danger. All of the Immortal Guardians worked together to take down their shared enemies and came out stronger after it. I wish the books came out faster, but I'm always willing to wait for the next installment. What couple will be next?
