Part of my massive Barbara Gordon Re-read which I had a glorious amazing time with. The art in the early Batgirl stuff was very touch and go to me, which made me wince a while reading through it, but I definitely appreciated the beginning of Cass' story, and Bab's involvement in that with Cass and with/against Bruce. ( ) More Cassandra as Batgirl, although this time there is much, much more about Cass and not as much Batman or Barbara in it. She gets her voice back, sort of, and this is her journey trying to figure out the balance between spoken language and the language of movement. She also seems to constantly be pulled between her assassin side and the side that so wants to be like Batman, to be approved by Batman. One thing I really like about these TPBs and the character of Cassandra Cain in general is how the writers are treating her like the teen she is. In a lot of the sidekick titles that star teenagers they seem to always know the right thing, not make stupid teenage mistakes, etc. But in this series, while Cass is great at so many things, some of the mistakes she makes are seriously short-sighted and boneheaded. And while I generally liked the book, my biggest problem with it was that it was just a very boring plot here and there. It didn't surprise me at all. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Batgirl Cassandra Cain faces two intimidating challenges: fight Lady Shiva without the power to anticipate her opponent's moves, and outmaneuver a secret government agency that wants to control her. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
