I read this in one sitting - I couldn't put it down. Dirtiest Little Secret lives up to it's billing as a quick and dirty read! The heat level is smokin'! Despite the shorter length, there's still good depth of character development and plot to keep the reader interested in the story - more so than in a typical novella. Can't wait for the next one! I voluntarily reviewed a complementary copy from the author How do you mend a broken heart? Find the love of a lifetime. Ava and Isaac meet by chance at the lowest points in their life. For Ava, the embarrassment helps her get in touch with her naughty side. For Isaac, their encounter chases away the guilt and pain of a loss still fresh and weighing heavy on his mind. What begins as escapism turns into a need so fierce and a love so divine. Can a relationship built on lust survive real life? Skye Jordan gives readers what they want. Dirtiest Little Secret is a sensual fantasy and a romantic's delight, because it not only tempts the senses, but speaks the universal language of love. Dirtiest Little Secret is a naughty but sweet little read that focuses on the fact that true happiness is in doing the things you love and being with the people who deserve you. Ava Jennings spends most of her adult life slaving for the success of her family business but at the end, it has been a thankless effort when her father rehires her cheating, faithless ex-fiance (whom she fired after catching him in a compromising position with 2 employees in his office) and gives him the job that she had been angling for. Isaac Banks has been there and done that. A life-changing event forces him to re-evaluate his goals. With a loving and supportive family behind him, he leaves everything behind to pursue a life in which he is happier doing what he really wants to do. He comes across Ava, both being childhood family friends, that she no longer recognises, when she decides to take a walk on the wild side. An MC bar is the last place where he should be meeting her but seeing that she's determined to snag herself a bad boy he volunteers to do the honors. An easy friendship naturally progress and she finds herself drawn to the handsome mechanic as the only world she's ever known crumbles around her. But when their worlds collide, she finds herself running scared because she's not brave enough to confront the truth about him or her feelings for him head-on. I received an Advanced Reviewer's Copy from the author for voluntary review consideration. Phew! Dirtiest Little Secret is at turns amusing, sweetly romantic, and hot as heck--a pretty big accomplishment for such a short book. Ava and Isaac are good together--really good together--and that fact makes up for the somewhat simplistic and pretty darn fast HEA they arrive at by the book's end. A masterpiece of literature this definitely isn't, but if you're looking for a quick read with interesting characters and off-the-charts chemistry with a handful of turn-up-the-A/C smexy scenes, then give this one a try! A Quick and Dirty Romance #
What a fun way to spend the afternoon…or a day on the beach…or perhaps locked in a winter cabin due to too much snow. This story put a smile on my face and had me WISHING I was in Ava’s place…at least with Isaac!
What I liked:
* Ava Jennings: wealthy, educated, in her family’s steel business, confronted with big choices ~ I like where she ended up at the end.
* Isaac Banks: good family, engineer, mechanic, business owner, loves his family, more than meets the eye at first glance ~ I like where he ended up at the end.
* That the H/h were equals without realizing it, at least at first
* The fantasy aspect of the beginning
* How what could have been a nightmare for Ava when she stepped on the wild side turned out just the opposite
* That Isaac loved his family as he did
* Isaac’s family – didn’t see much of them but thought they were “good people”
* The way Ava caught and dealt with her despicable fiancé
* The growth in the relationship between Ava & Isaac in the first part
* Ava’s friends stepping in to help her see the “truth”
* The resolution of the expected breakup at the end
* The steamy bits…wow…just…WOW…
* Reading a story that made me care
* Stepping into a few worlds I will never venture into
* Reading a new to me author I will look for again
* Thinking about “what if” & “What would *I* do?”
* The writing, plot, predictability, and happy ending
What I didn’t like:
* The pain both H/h felt at times in their life journeys
* Ava’s family…BIG TIME
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Definitely
Is it predictable and formulaic? Perhaps BUT…here are a few things I scribbled down while reading:
* Hot
* Steamy
* Sexy
* Secrets
* Fun
* Whip-smart
* Smile on my face
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
