More Than Friends began my introduction to the Friends series and although, I came late to the party, it was an interesting time get to know Jordan and Amanda. He's the guy that seems to have it all. A promising future, popularity and the smarts and skills to back up his life on easy street. Amanda is the girl that's dealt with some hard breaks. Cheating boyfriends, two - faced best friends and self - confidence issues. When the star quarterback sets his sights on the average beauty things are looking up, but secrets and insecurities, may derail this budding romance before it's even begun. Teen angst and adult drama took me back to high school. ( )

This book. Jesus, this book is all of us. Literally. Amanda and Jordan are two teenagers who only think they have their shit together. Jordan the popular jock has a thing for Amanda, the normal every day girl, who seems to know everyone, yet no one at the same time. She doesn't believe Jordan really likes her. Why would he? She is a nobody. While this book has no over the top themes, this book is everyone in high school. It may not have been the jock, but you did have someone dig you in high school, whether you knew it or not.
At first I just didn't like Amanda and her surly ass attitude towards Jordan, but as it went on I remember those feelings clearly. I swear it's like someone took a page out of my high school life, and I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Now, this book does end on a cliff hanger, and I HATE those, I really really hate them, and I was blind sided by this one. It's told in first person, most of the book is in Amanda's eyes, but then, you can tell Jordan got in the authors head and he had to have a say.

I've been dying to read the story of these two since I picked up Just Friends.

And it was everything I wanted!

I'm a sucker for the story where the popular boy falls for the "nobody" girl and this is no exception!

Amanda is a character you can really root for (Olivia in Just Friends was hit or miss). She's aware of everything going on around her and seems to know when her friends (Olivia) are acting like idiots. But she is also self-conscious and that humanizes her as well. Sure, she makes some mistakes but you gotta remember she's just growing up.

And Jordan...swoon! He just stole my heart. It's obvious to anyone how much he cares and respects Amanda. He says all the right things and acts the way you want a totally smitten boy to.

Can't wait to see how their story will wrap up!
