Never trust the words "Discounted Vacation"

In Eliza's younger years, when life should have less stress, allowing her to be carefree, have spontaneous vacations, and be able to put any responsibilities on the back burner for at least one weekend. But sorry, none of that for Eliza! Then - the perfect (haha) weekend getaway is dropped in her lap by her boyfriend Robert, and she cannot pack fast enough! Both Eliza and Robert are gifted, in the paranormal sense. They have the ability to access an alternate plane called "The River", this is where all things paranormal converge. To make this weekend even more special, Robert and Eliza promised each other to make this a "No River Weekend!" They don't even make it through the first night before this promise is gone out the window. Here's the funny part, they have no idea that when it does happen. Thinking they have slept through the night, they actually are drawn into a paranormal alternate timeline where ghosts of the past lead them on a crazy adventure.

The newest owner of the B & B has had some bizarre happenings causing his business to fail. Finally accepting that the problem is paranormal based, Milton (owner) reaches out for help. Robert's uncle hooks them up, but forgets to mention why it is so cheap and it is actually a working vacation. After learning the truth, they are not happy but the kids agree to help out, not knowing the horrible consequences that are to come.

This is the sequel to "The Haunting of Waverly Hall" and Michael Richan's 25th book all related to his first titled "The Bank of the River". Many characters and story lines are intertwined - but each book has it's own original storyline. And with each one I read, I can't wait to turn the page, but at the same time I don't want the book to end. This book runs the full gamut between good and evil; beginnings and endings, etc. I have to rate this as one of my top 5 favorites by this author. It would be so easy to summarize the book for you, but that would take the pleasure of reading for yourself from you. Not happening! If you are unfamiliar with the authors work, reading this book would definitely make you want to start from scratch! Make binge reading all his work a part of your summer and enjoy!!! ( )
