It wasn’t very original and even though it kept my attention, it was nothing special. Fairytale follows Camille, who is the daughter of a very successful winemaker, Christophe. Christophe’s wife, Joy, dies of breast cancer and within a year he is remarried to a very conniving woman, Maxine. When Christophe dies in a plane crash, you discover Maxine is really a wicked stepmother. Fairytale follows Cinderella perfectly, so you basically know what is going to happen before it even happens. I'm a Danielle Steel snob so of course I'm going to say I liked this book but I didn't love it as much as some of her others but glad I read it. Fairytale is the perfect title for this book but it should have been sub-titled Wicked: The Stepmother is a bitch. Camille is only 24 years old but wise and mature for her age running her families winery after her mother dies young of cancer and her father dies in a tragic accident. I would have never been able to do what she did. She was a smart woman and knew what was going on in the winery. Christophe was her father, who was a good guy but fell hard in love with the Countess Maxine who only wanted to get her hooks into men's $. I'm not going to go into what happens but let's just say that Maxine and her jerks of sons got their due. I fell in love with Simone (Maxine's feisty 87 year old mother) who she brought over from France. She became Camille's fairy godmother and I wanted to adopt her! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
That made me wonder: do I know when to stop reading? Am I forcing myself to finish books I don't like because of some misplaced feeling of obligation?
This book cleared that up really quickly. ( )
