I just like Perry Mason mysteries. They are cleverly plotted and give a great insight into the times in which they were written. Very enjoyable. This particular one didn't have any glaring un-PC moments like some that I've read. A nice diversion. ( )

I didn't notice this was one of ESG's earlier works until after. Solidly written, gripping drama and as usual, an unusual, and this time, also an emotional plot twist! ( )

Sneaky Perry Mason. I'm enjoying this series as a break from my more usual detective stories. The willingness to lie, mislead, and otherwise confuse in order to defend his client is both amusing to watch and depressing to think about. ( )

"Why?"
"I don't know just how to explain it so you'll understand."
"I don't know how I can understand unless you do explain it."
"I'd have to begin at the beginning and tell you the whole story."
