{My thoughts} – Bird and Squirrel are finally back home. Squirrel goes a bit insane with wanting to clean everything up. Bird wants to throw a party and Squirrel wants nothing to do with it. Squirrel lets his fears take over again and Bird tries to show him he has nothing to fear.

There is a lot that goes on in this book, but the most important things that stood out to me were: teamwork, relationships and moving on after loss. There are so many things I could say, but I am going to leave it simple.

There is so much to be learned by reading this book. There are so many good lessons that a child can learn. I think that any child that gets this book in their hands will enjoy it, it’s a nice face paced story that really helps to pull the reader into it’s pages. ( )

I loved it! That doesn't give you a lot to work with for a review, so I guess you will have to read it for yourself. :) ( )

In their fourth adventure, Bird and Squirrel return home only to find the river is dry and hungry rats want to eat them. They decide to have a party, against Squirrel’s better judgment, and the forest catches on fire. Will they survive this latest adventure?

Reluctant readers and graphic novel enthusiasts alike with love the fourth Bird and Squirrel adventure. This odd couple is up to their famous antics as they discover the hard lessons of life and friendship. The graphic, color illustrations combine with the humorous text to create story that will motivate the most reluctant reader. ( )

It is a graphic novel about two animal friends who go on a journey together to save their town from the giant fearsome rats. They then meet a squirrel girl whose name is red. They help rescue the whole town from the rats by taking down the beavers dam so the rats who attacked their party can be killed by the fire of the dam. Then they thought that they had lost their friend bird but they rebuilt their town and red and squirrel got married and had a kid and they named it bird. Then at the end of the story bird came back alive and they lived happily ever after

A fitting end to the story, the plotline here is noticeably longer than the prior episodes. Unclear if that's all part of the plan, or if Burks was given a longer leash after the success of the first three. In any event, plenty of bright illustrations and amusing text & action. W is pleased to own the full set for himself, my hope is he's inspired to pull them out and re-read some morning he gets up earlier than the rest of us (as is his wont). ( )
