Quite odd to me. I had a very difficult time following. In fact I couldn't even figure out what time period this was from. ( )Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I enjoyed this short romantic story. Though it is confusing as to what era this story takes place it is still an easy read and kept my attention. I felt the ending was a little rushed, but tidy.I was provided a copy of this book from LibraryThing in exchange for my honest review. A simple story about a simple time in history where class and gender roles were defined. Those who did not fit the mold, as the main character did not, found themselves in a quandary. But, alas, along came the gent in shining armor. Not literally, but figuratively. Although I felt like I knew where the story was going and would end, it was a fun story to read. I became involved in the characters' lives and cared about them. I would recommend this book because it took me away from 21st century problems for a few minutes each time I read it. It was the first time I had read a book online and I enjoyed that form of reading more than I thought I would. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I received a copy from LibraryThing for an honest review. Lydia has been brought up to be the perfect example of a lady with a ton of restrictions. The overall plot was ok but I wish the author would have developed the aunt's character and circumstances a bit more. At first it did seem that she was 'caged' in with all the restrictions and rules but then the trip to NY didn't seem to align well with the original plot. The ending was different and unexpected and I gave it 3 stars since again it seemed vital to develop more of the plot as it seemed she wasn't caged at all. At times it seems historical, other times it seems other dimensional. The whole thing with Merrick is just messed up, especially the way Lydia reacts at the end. Lydia is mature in most ways, but immature in some. She is subdued except when around Simon, then she comes to life. Simon is very proper but lax at the same time. It's a very interesting story that I enjoyed reading.I received a complimentary copy of this book from Library Thing. This is my honest opinion of it. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
