I am really excited of this discovery. Having read _1900:A Fin de Siecle Reader_ , _Decadent Poetry_ (from Penguin) and Sally Ledger's _Fin de Siecle_, I found this book most brilliant. I like the juxtapositions of the (canonical and non-canonical) texts, forming an organic community, even when they disagree with one another; the organization of four in-depth sections (instead of a multitude of themes superficially put); separation of poetry, prose and essays; the New Women Fiction (Egerton, D'Arcy and Wotton are amazing!); and most of all, the one-paragraph introductions before each author. The introductions are most helpful as a way for me to get into the work. This is such a gem.

Thank you for such a great anthology. It really inspires me, although in what way, I cannot yet tell. I suspect I will keep returning to it again and again. ( )
