Yea, there are a few typos here and there but nothing takes away from what this book means to me. I may never get to meet Estee but getting to read about her life, knowing that she too went through things I went through, and seeing how powerful and confident she has become is absolutely inspiring. It's just amazing to read about someone you truly admire. ( ) Bloom is a book by Beauty Blogger/YouTuber Estée Lalonde, formerly known by her username Essie Button. She, like many others in her position, was fortunate enough to get the chance to write her own book, and as she is one of my favorite YouTubers, I decided to give Bloom a shot. Admittedly, I am not terribly into beauty or fashion for myself, but I admire makeup as an art form and fashion as a means of self-expression. Over time, I came to enjoy Estée’s vlogs over her beauty videos, sticking mainly to favorites videos on her main channel. So, what about the book? Bloom is sort of a mix of Estée’s two channels. There are sections for Beauty, Fashion, Home, and Food. But there are also sections for Life, People, and Travel. Estée’s writing is not particularly complex or deep, but the stories she tells are personal. She talks about things like anxiety and her relationship with her father, topics she’s mostly avoided in her videos. The pictures are lovely and usually well-placed. However, some of the little boxes of advice were cliché and impersonal, and I can’t help thinking they were thrown in just to use up space. There are also some typos, but not as many as I was expecting when I read some of the other reviews. Bloom is a fairly good purchase if you are a big fan of Estée’s, but easily ignorable if you’re only interested in beauty vids. What makes this book worth-reading are the personal bits, but this is a quick, light read even during the life sections. I would have liked to have seen her lean more deeply into those subjects, but I appreciate what she was willing to share. You shouldn’t expect a masterpiece here, but Bloom is a sweet look into the (slightly) deeper life of Estée Lalonde, whatever that is worth to you. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
