"When a few beavers come to town, the Grumpy Woods are even more grumpy than usual. These beavers are chewing down the trees and drying up their river water with a dam. Everyone gets even angrier when the Super Happy Party Bears throw a dance party to celebrate the new dam, but when they dance that dam right down the river, everyone admits the bears aren't so bad after all"--… (más)

This is a next-level early chapter book series that taps into current humour (think Adventure Time, etc.), is peppered with subtle popular culture references, has a fantastic message of inclusivity and features bears who dance, party and have a great time. Right up my alley. Delightfully subversive in so many ways. ( )

This story centers around two main groups of characters: the Super Happy Party Bears and the other citizens of the Grumpy Woods. The citizens of the Grumpy Woods do not like the Super Happy Party Bears because they are very fun and full of energy. The central message of this story is that two groups of people who are completely opposite from each other can still come together to solve problems. In the story, a very rude family of beavers moves into the Grumpy Woods. The citizens of the Grumpy Wood try to get the beavers to leave by singing very loudly, but unfortunately, the beavers are wearing earmuffs and do not hear the singing. The Super Happy Party bears arrive to the scene and begin dancing. The citizens realize that the dancing is causing the beavers' house to slowly move off of the structure it sits on. The citizens of the Grumpy Woods begin dancing with the Super Happy Party Bears, and this causes the beavers' house to move completely off of the structure. The beavers' house drifts down the river and they are no longer residents of the Grumpy Woods. ( )

How can super happy party bears be anything but super fun, funny and cute? This new series is a winner with funny, clever stories about a woods full of grumpy denizens, except for the super happy party bears, who will save the day with their super happy party ways. Kids will love the antics of all the characters and grown ups will chuckle at the witty jokes.

In Volume 1, can the super happy party bears and the grumpy woodland creatures join forces to deal with unwanted beavers who are ruining there river? ( )
