Wouldn't one enjoy a proper storyteller? But this is not what one would expect. This book is well named. No Darker Place. I'm sure there are a lot of Dark Places in the world, but perhaps this one excels, and not in the way that is good, because this is not a darkness of light but a darkness of soul. As such, it is part of a series "A Shades of Death Novel." I will want to read the second. This is edge of your seat writing. All I can say is "Wow" as I take a deep breath! I read this book in one sitting. My heart is still racing! Debra Webb, you are very creative, and one of my favorites! A heart-breaking story in many ways, but heart-pounding, where you just can't help reacting. Definitely a well-written thriller. The Storyteller keeps needing material to tell the story. What the storyteller does is, in his own mind is to create his victims' stories or more likely his story. Many characters in the book but people disappear quite quickly and silently. Bobbie Gentry was an early victim, but one who fights hard to retrieve her life. With her losses, it's amazing she survives at all, she has lost so much. However, she is referred to as the one who survived the terror and this storyteller is very complicated. Why else would he bring a child to his vision? The characters are well-portrayed, especially Nick Shade, though we don't learn a lot through the story, he captures one's interest. There are some surprises and twists. If you enjoy a thrilling roller coaster ride, then you'll love this one. Not many authors make me lose myself in the story without seeing the writer, but Debra Webb has done just that. Her new series comes on the scene with a bang; starring embattled Montgomery detective Bobbie Gentry. Start the series with the short story, the Blackest Crimson. It'll definitely whet your appetite for the ride. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
