Tom Collins is the still best dressed man of Manhattan, but now he is concerned with saving his lunch date. A laugh-out-loud account of dating beyond the normal. Well-written with characters you will easily identify and a fast flowing pace. I can heartily recommend you will enjoy this laugh-out-loud “tongue in cheek” adventure.. Tom Collins, the dooms day dater, just made a harrowing escape from the marauder-laden 33rd street mall, but now he has to go back to save Jenny. The attempt gets him into trouble with Midtown Clan's leader, Murray, and Tom starts to realize that being Jenny's savior isn't easy. Later, Tom has to give tactical handgun training to a former cheerleading squad, hunt down a serial killer loose in his apartment building, and keep his eye on a Pomeranian named Peaches. This picks up right where the first one left off. Tom is determined to save Jenny, who is currently the prize for the winner of a death match currently being held in a mall. Tom swoops in without much of a plan but somehow manages to hold his own. Shenanigans ensue. To say much more would be spoiler-y.
I don't know what it is that I enjoyed so much about this continuation. Maybe a part of it was that returning to the story felt like being in on the jokes. I knew the world, I knew the people, I knew the situation. Tom's antics felt less annoying and more deserving of an affectionate eye-roll. The story is original, the plot is fast-paced (then again, it should be, it's quite short) and the writing is great. Plus, it's just hilarious. Loved it.
