It makes the time doing things I may not enjoy as much so much better. Panty melting smile…. How can you not love a book that uses that to describe the hunky, sexy, and wonderful main character? I couldn’t pass up on reading Duke’s story when that is how Gabriella describes him. Who am I kidding? I couldn’t pass up reading Claimed by Love because it is written by the amazing Melissa Foster and is part of the Love in Bloom series. In true Love in Bloom style, Duke and Gabriella have a true and real love. Their attraction is instantaneous but they have to work for it. It would have been easy to just fall into bed and hope for the best but Duke is just too good of a guy for a quick lay with Gabriella. Gabriella is also a wonderful character. She calls out Duke on his intentions with the island, she holds tight to her beliefs and wants, and make Duke work to win her over for good. Together these two are absolutely on fire. I also loved that other Love in Bloom characters makes appearances in Claimed by Love. Pierce Braden (sigh), Emily, and of course those wonderful Ryder siblings all made appearances. This book can be read as part of the series, which I recommend, or it can be read as a standalone. (  ) Charlotte_Lynn | Jul 14, 2018 | Sit back and enjoy the ride! Melissa takes us on a journey with both main characters. Gabriella has to stop looking at the island from the eyes of a child seeing perfection to realize the island & it's culture are dying. There are no prospects for the younger generation unless they move off island. The tourist trade is high but there is nothing to sustain them for the rest of the year. Duke has to realize that there is more to life than business and short term affairs. He needs to realize that he is looking for love. Can Duke negotiate the purchase of the island without alienating Gabriella? Can she reconcile Duke's vision and her love of the island life? I love the plot line in this book and the added element of the Greek culture. There is such a huge feeling of family & looking out for each other. Melissa's writing does this perfect justice. You are drawn into the story from the first due to the chemistry between the characters & then the give & take between them keeps you involved. The characters are well developed & realistic. The only problem is that the story keeps you enthralled & reading so intently that the next thing you know, the book is finished! And you have a long wait for the next one!! Gabriella Liakos is a New York City family law attorney, whose heart really remained on Elpitha island with the rest of the family, where there are no roads and all of her family still speaks Greek to each other. But now her grandfather has asked her to show this potential developer around and Gabriella is not happy and wants this developer off her families island as quickly as possible and she plans to make it as uncomfortable for him as possible! Until she meets Duke Ryder and then her feeling become torn. Duke and Gabriella start this dance of love and attractions, but with Duke being a Ryder; he just wants to make everything better for Gabriella and to keep her safe and happy! But Gabriella is struggling with torn loyalties between her love for the island and Duke. Will she find a balance or will she be made to choose? I have to say that I am amazed by Melissa Foster skill at keeping all of these series straight in her head! I always have to read the other books before starting a new book in the series. But I have to say that the author's quality of writing is outstanding. I truly felt the anxiety that Gabriella felt over being torn between Duke and her love for the island. I loved the way that Duke felt empathy for little David and took time to teach him how to catch a baseball and found his strength as a pitcher! I loved the way that even if Duke was away, he made sure that Gabriella got home safe and truly I can go on and on! I honestly think that Claimed by Love is honestly my favorite Melissa Foster book of all time, because it is just pure love!
