Treeze McDuffie leaves everything she's known for 60 years to travel with an adopted dog aptly named Guido. She hopes to escape her "pointless existence" and find a much better one that is "purposeful, right and securely normal." What starts off as a trip to the Badlands of South Dakota veers dramatically off course as she encounters people and events, both natural and supernatural, that steer her in a whole new direction. She is challenged in ways she has never experienced before, an odyssey of rebirth and self-discovery.
