"The Babel Conspiracy is a tale of intrigue and love. Two women engineers struggle to develop the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft amid ever intensifying global terrorism and muddled personal lives. Trisha Callahan has an abiding faith in God, and "those roots of middy blouses and pleated skirts, prayer books and incense-filled churches went deep." This faith is tested when she finds herself in love with a married man. Audra Shields sees herself as a modern Lady Chatterley, "liberated but not forsaking breeding, intellect, or femininity." When she becomes involved with a dangerous stranger, she begins to question her lifestyle. Both women try sorting out their personal problems while racing the clock to finish a project fraught with sabotage and murder. And who's behind it all? When the Department of Homeland Security and the Mossad finally figure it out, the answer surprises everyone." -- Provided by publisher.… (más)

This was a good dystopian romantic thriller. I really liked Trisha but wasn't too thrilled with Audra. These women are trying to create a new type of engine to fly airplanes. The world is going crazy with oil being very expensive and many bad things going on with terrorists. How will the world keep going through all of this. How can the United States keep going? The world is going crazy. This was an interesting story. I received this book from bookcrash.com for a fair and honest opinion. ( )

The Babel Conspiracy by Sylvia Bambola is a fascinating story of intrigue and international politics laced with romance. Even though the book was originally written a number of years ago, the events could have been ripped from the headlines of today's news reports. It is evident the author has done considerable research and seems to have intuitive insight into current events. The Bable Conspiracy is action packed with riots, bombings, and car chases and yet it is rich in love too...forbidden love, unrequited love, and love that sees beyond the outward appearance into the heart. The characters are strong and believable and crafted into a real world of temptation, terrorism, corruption, and fear. Along with the brutality and evil of terrorism and the shadiness of politics, there is a strong Christian theme threaded throughout the book...one of redemption, peace in the midst of a storm and hope. Included in the book is a listing of the characters, a glossary and a short section of discussion questions. All in all, a book that lovers of contemporary thrillers will not want to miss.

I received the book free for the Bookcrash review programme which requires an honest but not necessarily positive review.

I don't read a lot of fiction but the description caught my eye. It is presumably some time in the not too distant future. The Islamic State of America (ISA) are slowly emerging as the dominant force on the world stage. They have key players at every level of government. Their allies are determined to use diminishing oil supplies to control democratic countries and to punish them for their immorality and double standards. They are particularly keen to target Jewish people who they believe are responsible for the rejection of Islam long ago....

Trisha, a Christian, is working on an aircraft project to develop other sources of fuel to fend off the approaching oil catastrophe but she faces personal struggles and temptations at work. She tries to befriend a key colleague working on the same project but receives scorn and derision due to her beliefs about God. A is battling her own demons in the form of various vices.

It is inevitable that the conflicting interests of the two sides will reach boiling point but what will be the outcome?

I enjoyed this book in general. It is well written and held my interest. The concepts were explained in a way that I could understand without having a grasp of aircraft mechanics and fuel sources beyond the basics. The characters were interesting and there was sufficient information about each to reveal their background and place in the story. The story was realistic and sadly may not be too far from the truth.

From a Christian worldview perspective I felt that the author clearly defined the beliefs of the characters and where they entered into vice and sin it was clear that they were not Christians. Conversely those who were Christians on the whole behaved in a fitting manner. I liked this distinction as it is not clear in many books. The author also made it clear when a character was struggling with temptation which was also realistic. The note to the reader at the end of the book appeals for them to consider God as the solution to all of lifes confusion. I was pleased to see that there.

The book is clean; free from bad language and sexual content. There is some violence and sexual scenes alluded to but not covered in detail or graphically.

The only thing I struggled with was in relation to the outcome of two of the main characters who finally end up together when earlier on they had been fighting their attraction due to it being wrong. Although circumstances changed allowing them to be together I felt this sends out the wrong message to Christians who are considering dating non-Christians as they may hang onto the belief that their partner will convert if they pray hard enough. I accept, however, that this is fiction but because it is written from a Christian worldview there could be a danger of unhelpful justification of remaining in sin.

I would recommend this book to Christian readers. ( )

This is one outstanding thriller that is written with such depth and explosive action, I couldn't put the book down. The characters are extremely well developed and make the story seem real. The author does an excellent job of keeping the action going with intensity .

We are all aware of the threats we face against terrorism and this book brings that to the surface with an intriguing plot. Trisha is one of the key characters in the book. I love how she was portrayed as an intelligent young woman who has a deep relationship with God. She will be tempted by something that could cause her to sin. Will she take the bait? She finds herself working on a very top secret project that will put her in harms way. Can she trust God to keep her safe?

Audra is also working on the project with Trisha. She is smart but finds herself looking for something that only alcohol can help her with, or so she thinks. She begins a spiral of destruction that causes her to not trust anyone. She has made it known that she doesn't believe in God. Will she turn to Him in her weakest moment?

The story takes us on a journey of espionage , deceit, greed , power struggle , test of faith and an ending that will be unforgettable. The author writes with twists and turns that keep the reader guessing till the end. I loved how the author put scriptures throughout the story in perfect spots that shows us how important relying on God is.

"If my people will....turn from their wicked ways...then will I forgive their sin , and heal their land.
