According to Egyptian history, in 1323 BC, Egypt's youngest pharaoh died at the age of nineteen after ruling his country for a decade. You may think you know the true story of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun and of ancient Egypt, but what if the actual story didn't end quite the way you had always believed? Suffused with love; permeated with conspiracy; and immersed in treason - Tutankhamun's spectacular story unfolds in a myriad of surprising ways; ways that you can't even begin to imagine. As a matter of fact, what if Tutankhamun's story never ended at all?

After the Pharaoh Akhenaton is murdered, his nine-year-old son Tutankhamun succeeds him to become the new pharaoh. Right from the beginning of his reign, the boy king faces many enemies and struggles to prove himself even to his own councilors. Although he eventually becomes capable enough to vanquish the numerous enemies who threaten his kingdom, Tutankhamun may never actually defeat the enemy that resides within his own palace.

When the pharaoh falls in love for the first time in his life, the woman who captures his heart wields an awesome power indeed. Yet Tutankhamun has always had to make difficult decisions and to sacrifice his own personal happiness in order to protect Egypt. He realizes fairly quickly that when matters of the heart and the duties of the pharaoh are in conflict - his duties toward Egypt must always take precedence over his emotions.

When the cruel Pharaoh Khufu is resurrected, and becomes a vessel for the god of Chaos, Tutankhamun faces an impossible situation. He must fight this usurper of his throne - the embodiment of true Chaos - but does he have the strength and wisdom to fight against such fantastical deities and unimaginable odds? He must call upon the powers of the gods Horus, Thoth, Ra and Anhur to aid him in the impending battle, and in order to save the woman he loves and the people of his kingdom.

I have always enjoyed reading historical fantasy as long as the chosen historical era is accurately portrayed. I also enjoy reading anything about King Tutankhamun and his reign. In my opinion, Tut Reborn by Cyci Cade is a fascinating glimpse into the culture of ancient Egypt. I was also just as intrigued to see how Egyptian mythology could be woven into this story as a plausible yet equally fantastic element of the plot. I would certainly give this book an A! ( )

When Akhenaton dies, Tutankhamun is a ten-year-old boy who has to marry his half-sister Ankhesenamun and become the new Pharaoh. He has too much responsibility. With Ay´s helps, his vizier, and other advisers, Tutankhamun becomes a wise, strong and fascinating king. However, his advisors can´t teach him how to deal with love.

Tut is king, but also teenager who has power and starts to discover love. The author explores it wisely. Like any teenager, Tut is a little obsessed with love and power. However, he is mature enough to separate his personal life and duties.

When a plague devastates Egypt, Tut has to make a difficult and unexpected decision that displeases Egyptian people to save his kingdom. Cornered, he is forced to accept the advisors´ suggestion.

Yunet shows him a different life from a servant´s perspective and Meryt makes his heart beat hard for a peasant. However, it is Maya who will change everything.

With a compelling writing, Cyci Cade takes you to ancient Egypt, a land with many mysteries and secrets, ruled by uncountable gods, and desired by powerful enemies. It is easy to picture the characters, landscape and gods. The author studied each detail carefully and added them strategically to the story.

The characters are authentic, complex and it´s easy to imagine their lives in that ancient kingdom. She shows very well Tut´s struggle to rule a kingdom and his issues as a man; after all he is a human being, even being considered a son of Horus. I loved this part.

The most interesting thing is when you think that it is the end, it isn´t.
If you like fantasy, mythology, and gods, I recommend this book. ( )

Cyci Cade´s debut novel is a high-concept, and highly enjoyable, epic fantasy adventure for young adults. Eighteen-year-old Pharaoh narrates great part of the story.

First, I have to talk about the setting; it takes place in ancient Egypt. The author describes very well the mysterious culture of a civilization that lived a long time ago.

Tutankhamun is a fascinating character, it´s easy to picture him because the author describes him as a person with fears, regrets, doubts, and feelings. Being a young pharaoh doesn’t mean Tut isn´t able to love someone and form some pure connections with other people; after all, he wasn´t an alien; it captivated me.

Being pharaoh, Tut has his privilege, but it doesn´t protect him from troubles; on the contrary, he has veiled and unveiled enemies, as well loyal friends and servants. Having to rule a kingdom with so many issues and wealth, Tut feels abandoned by the gods when he tries to find answers to his questions unsuccessfully.

He doesn´t know who to trust; after some events that endanger his life and the warning of a servant, Tut believes that he is in danger in his own palace. It is distressing because at the same time he has power, he is unprotected, defenseless; somebody can poison his food or beverage.

Cyci Cade´s Tut Reborn weaves traditional Egyptian mythology into the most famous pharaoh´s life to create an action-packed mix of history, romance, treason and conspiracy. Each part of the book has a different issue as the story moves forward.

There are so many gaps in Tutankhamun´s life that give space to all sort of ideas to fill in the blanks. We know so little about King Tut and Cyci Cade had a brilliant idea to give the boy king a new breath. She was successful in crafting a unique novel about the life of the young king.

This book is freaking phenomenal! This is the book of the year! ( )

Tut Reborn is a stunning and absolutely dazzling story of romance, treason, determined and unforgettable characters, and mythological gods. Beautifully and elegantly written, the book enchants from the very beginning until the last sentence. It is breathtaking.

The book has three parts and starts with Akhenaton´s death, Tutankhamun´s father. You will discover who killed the pharaoh later; meanwhile, you´ll make a mental list with possible names. I like this air of mystery.

It´s a very interesting and unique twist on the story of King Tut that express his confusion, doubts and insecurities being a young ruler and husband. It makes me think what would have happened if he had lived longer.

It isn´t a historical novel, but a very well written fantasy novel. Cyci Cade mentions some facts of Tut´s life and events that happened at that time, but she gives another creative version to the story.

Tut is a king, but he is a teenager who finds love for the first time; he is a little obsessed with that like any ordinary teenager. However, it doesn´t dodge him from his duties as pharaoh; he is mature enough to separate the two things.

Cyci Cade tackles some topics in a sublet way; she finds balance to describe characters, topics and relationships, so it isn´t boring or excessively explored; this teenager behavior is only one of the topics that I´ll mention here.

The book is full of action, adventure and romance. She introduces the gods without extensive, boring and unnecessary information.

Tut is a charismatic character; it´s impossible not to fall in love with him.

Tut Reborn is a delightful book with complex plot and characters. There are no lulls in the story and there are twists you can´t predict at all. ( )

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, here the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

A person is not expected to be perfect, just balanced.
The gods have announced my death. Two dreams, it´s a warning, my days in this world are numbered.
She has the power to transport me to another world; a world where I´m not the Pharaoh, I don´t have so many problems to solve, I don´t have bad dreams.
Death is silence, peace, loneliness; it´d be good if I hadn´t left my heart on Earth, if I hadn´t left behind the ones I love. Death is sadness.
