Mystery Another rollicking good time with the NYPD Red team as they solve a couple of crimes. There's a lot going on and I thought that it was tough to follow at times. Ancillary characters--the female mayor is a terror, Kyle and Zach's boss is a political mess and the perp is quite adept at hiding in plain sight. We did not learn a lot about the crimes. On to #6, So much of James Patterson's recent work has been very mundane and formulaic though I have to give him credit about his story creating ability - there he is one of the best. Generally, beyond the basic story, the writing is average, the characters very cardboard and the dialogue sort of in the category; people do talk but really, like that. For all of his short comings he is the master of mind candy stories and like all candy, they my not be great for you but they are fun to eat. When I need to give my mind a rest find his writing is just the answer. Before I retired read so much deep complicated dry legal, business, and assessment documents (ignoring the tidal wave of emails) that Patterson was a perfect escape into recreational reading. Since I no longer need an escape route to refresh my mind I can get into much more deep writing but one never gives up candy and that is what James Patterson is to me, a trip to the mind candy store. In the NYPD Red series have found some interesting and a bit above average writing, story and character development and this one is one of the best in the series. First it is a strange but a fun story with some interesting salacious moments and characters a bit off center enough to be entertaining. There is good story flow with plenty of realistic disruptions that make it fractured enough to seem like how one would feel when everything was going wrong at once. Have to say that this is one of Patterson's best in some time and would recommend it to anyone looking for some fun mind candy. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
