The Hero's Sweetheart (Eagle Point Emergency) by Cheryl Wyatt I loved Olivia (with her big heart, work ethics and the way she protects Scully) and her fun, quirky and faithful co-workers. Olivia and Jack truly do seem to be a case of “opposites attracting each other”. This was a great read. This was the first book I’ve read in this series but have read all of the Wings of Refuge series. I recommend this book to readers of clean romance. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
His Perfect Match Military commander Jack Sullenberger is used to saving the day. But when his father has a stroke in his beloved small-town diner, it's waitress and EMT student Olivia Abbott coming to the rescue. Jack rushes home to tend to his father and take over the business--running right into Olivia's very strong opinions. The steely military man and the waitress can't agree on what's best for the restaurant. When Jack sees something that shakes his growing trust in Olivia, their undeniable connection is put to the test. But if Jack's open to the truth, they'll have a chance at finding a future together. I liked the diner and the atmosphere of friendship between the day shift workers. I think Sully was trying to help some down-and-outers (ex-cons, etc.) though that's never explicitly stated. Some of that rubbed off on his son, even though at first, Jack comes across as a bit of a hard-nose.
Jack and Olivia really don't know each other that long before he's asking her to marry him, and I don't think in real life that would bode well for a long-term relationship. Yes, Jack's known Patrice for years and yes, Patrice has known Olivia for a while so there is that person who knows them both who can give advice on the other--then again, given Patrice's choice in boyfriend, I'm not sure she's the best person to be playing matchmaker.
I'm not sure that the 6 days to raise at least $30K is realistic (I never was real clear on how much money was owed to the bank. Patrice mentions $45K and I'm not sure how she feels that is being repaid to the bank--and then Jack mentions another $30K on top of that amount.) ( )
