Dr. Mabry has done it again, and I had to page turn just to keep up with all that is going on. The story has a really sad happening with the deaths of Dr. Sarah Gordon’s husband and two year old daughter. We find a woman angry with God, and trying to move on, but also trying to hang on to the past. While doing this something or someone so evil is stalking this poor woman, will anyone be able to help her before it is to late? As this story goes one, I found myself not wanting to trust anyone, even her pastor; everyone is suspect to doing these horrible things to her. We have fires, gunshots, leaving the form of a body in her bed, a doll just like her daughters on her doorstep, on and on. Are they trying to drive her mad, or are they looking to kill her. There are also men who you suspect to being the perpetrator, that seem to want to have a relationship with her, almost to a possessive nature. All I found myself wanting was peace for her, and a new life, but is that even going to be possible? If you like to read books that keep you stomach in your throat, don’t miss this one! I received this book through Litfuse, and the Publisher Abingdon, and was not required to give a positive review. Title: Medical Judgment Author: Richard L. Mabry, M. D. Pages: 320 Year: 2016 Publisher: Abingdon Press My rating is 5 stars. In the latest novel from author and Dr. Richard Mabry, audiences are going to be pulled very quickly into a suspenseful thriller! Dr. Sarah Gordon is still recovering from losing her husband and daughter in a car accident, but still stays busy as an E.R. physician. While trying to grieve and learn what her new normal is, she is being slowly terrorized by an as yet known assailant. Sarah is receiving scary phone calls and her house has been broken into which leaves her feeling violated. On top of all this, she has two men who are interested in her and attend her church too. Sarah has only recently returned to church. While the unknown perp has yet to be caught, Dr. Gordon decides she has had enough and takes action. Sarah doesn’t want to be leaning on anyone else and doesn’t want to live in constant fear, so she puts into place some measures that help her feel more secure. But does it work or has she only succeeded in agitating whoever is behind these scare tactics? For me, this was one of the best books the author has written! I loved how he has the main character, Dr. Gordon, take measures to be protected as well as being able to protect herself, if necessary. I loved how the author shows the doctor still working through her grief and being very transparent about she feels toward God. Readers will sense at times they may know who the culprit is terrorizing the doctor and at other times perhaps not quite so sure. The ending was great and since I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who has yet to read the story, I won’t reveal any spoilers. Let me just say that this mystery has faith, suspense, and action that will keep people turning pages till they reach the conclusion! The novel is written with heart and will draw audiences into the book emotionally as well as mentally, especially when another man is introduced into Dr. Gordon’s circle of acquaintances. It was so intriguing I couldn't put it down. The author does an outstanding job of delivering mystery at its very best. The storyline is superior and has all the makings for a great movie. I always look forward to reading Mr. Mabry's books and this one is definitely one of his very best. Sarah is trying to pull her life back together after a tragic accident killed her husband and daughter. She feels empty inside and angry at the world. All she has now is her job as an ER doctor. She tries to fill her empty days by working but inside she feels nothing. Several men in her life start to take interest in her, but she feels she would be dishonoring her dead husband if she went out with anyone. Suddenly strange things start to happen that makes Sarah uneasy. A fire in her house, strange calls, threats made on her life all start to make her rethink her safety. Who is trying to harm her? Can she trust someone who was her husband's best friend to protect her? The reason I liked this book so much was for several reasons. The main character was a strong woman who didn't fall apart at the first sign of trouble. Her character was well written and even shared her anger and struggle with God. There were several references to overcoming anger and how to heal with the help of God. and the author The story was so detailed with its surprising twists that I couldn't figure out who the person was causing Sarah so much uneasiness. That is a sign of an author who not only develops a great plot but keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat. The added characters in the story compliment each other and interact very well together. I loved the preacher and his words of wisdom as he counseled several people. If you are looking for a mystery with a action packed story that is explosive and at the caliber of one of the best writers around, this book is a must read. I received a copy of this book from the author and Abingdon Press for an honest review. Dr. Mabry again caught my attention with his latest well-plotted medical thriller, Medical Judgment. Sarah Gordon is an ER doctor who recently lost her husband and young daughter in a car accident. She wakes up to the smell of fire. So begins the torturous race to locate a deranged stalker before he can end Sarah's life. I liked the protagonist, but I like her even more as the tension grew and she has to decide how to keep herself from falling apart. I loved the look at three of the main male characters. They are intriguing, they have real depth, and they all possess traits that can make or break and change the course of the book. So, in my mind, this book was about not just who survives physically, but who survives emotionally. The ending snuck up on me while I was trying to figure out who done it. Mabry's novel is clean, exciting, and deals with subjects like revenge, trust, the grieving process, and how God fits into one's life in the healing process. I would recommend this thriller to both men and women. I gratefully received an egalley of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Someone is after Dr. Sarah Gordon. They've stalked her and set a fire at her home. Trying to recover from the traumatic deaths of her husband and infant daughter is tough enough, but she has no idea what will come next. Her late husband's best friend and a recovering alcoholic detective are trying to solve the mystery before it's too late, but both appear to be vying for her affection as well. Sarah finds herself in constant fear as the process plays out. As the threats on her life continue to escalate, so do the questions: Who is doing this? Why are they after her? And with her only help being unreliable suitors in competition with each other, whom can she really trust? No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Dr. Sarah Gordon has been going through the motions since the deaths of her husband and daughter nine months before. But it seems Sarah has a stalker, and annoying phone calls soon escalate into deadly attacks. After depending on her husband, Sarah is left feeling alone and scared. But she soon learns that relying on another man may not be in her best interests, and she takes matters into her own hands. Will that be enough to keep her safe?
Medical Judgment has suspense galore. The action comes fast and furious as Sarah escapes one attack after another. Her fear and paranoia kept me on edge. Richard kept me guessing too — I had so many suspects! Third person perspective lets the reader in on all the characters’ (including the bad guy) motives and feelings. Characters are really real in this book. Most are struggling with loss of some type, and all have to find their own way to healing in their and God’s time. That’s probably the strongest part of this book; the examples of the different ways people cope with loss. Richard has a wealth of insight and experience that add a depth to the novel. The spiritual truths that are shared make this book more than just a thriller.
So should you read Medical Judgment? Of course! What are you waiting for?!
Highly Recommended.
