( ) This is a delightful story that is made by the wonderful, detailed illustrations. It is the story of Noah's Ark, cut from the animals perspective. When it starts to rain, the animals pay no attention and continue to play as normal. When the land is flooded and they are all trying to keep safe on the one spot of land left, they are saved by a man in a large boat. After boarding the Ark, they are once again happy and playful, until they are not. Any large group in confined quarters for a long length of time are going to have difficulties. The animals learn that cooperation and working together will save the day. Young children will be able to spend hours with this book talking to parents and caregivers about the illustrations. It is a wonderful way to develop language skills and the love or reading. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Kuskin did a great job of retelling the story of Noah’s Ark on a k-3 grade level from the animals’ point of view through a poem. I did feel the illustrations were very busy and took away from the wording. I kept going back to re-read and then look at the pictures. On the bright side this story does get the point across about how it rained nonstop with Noah and the animals in the ark. Despite my criticism, I did enjoy the pictures and the various colors used. Now, if I were reading the story to a group of children I think they would be more focused on the illustrations rather than the story being told. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
A secular re-telling of the story of Noah's Ark. The animals are trapped on a hill and rescued by Noah. Most of the story describes how the animals pass the time on the ark, until they find land and a rainbow appears. Noah sails away and the animals say thank-you.
