After seeing Hilborn perform his poetry online via Button Poetry, it's very difficult to read it quietly. When Neil performs, his whole body performs. His arms, face, hands convulse and express just as much as his words and emotions. When the reader is left to their own interpretations, the words feel stagnant, the prose unmoving. This is a quick read, but I would recommend watching his performances over reading the book. One of my absolute favorite poetry books of all time. I would not recommend these for any students under Junior or Senior in high school, cuz the content is pretty intense, but I actually saw this poet live recently and they are just as good, if not better, read aloud. They are truly deep and meaningful poems that really hit home. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: When you're dumb enough for long enough, you're gonna meet someone too smart to love you, and they're gonna love you anyway, and it's gonna go so poorly, Neil Hilborn writes in his debut full-length collection, OUR NUMBERED DAYS. In 2013, Hilborn's poem "OCD" went viral, and has amassed over 11 million views to date. While this collection ruminates on love, heartbreak, and mental illness, these poems are anything but saccharine. Hilborn uses the same humor and self-deprecation that propelled "OCD" to success in order to make his unmatched vulnerability all the more powerful. Ultimately, Hilborn is a poet of the people: his work is accessible, honest, and entertaininga revitalizing entry in contemporary poetry. .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

This one took me forever to start & finish, which is sad because it is beyond darling and I loved every single poem, but I kept forgetting it at school, losing it in bookbags and bookshelves in my office corner of my classroom. It was gorgeous, to the point, sweet, sultry, painful and I adored every word. I will be following this author's future publications. ( )
