Sometimes a reader comes across a story that they feel an affinity with. Consumed by the Dare was that find for me. London was the girl with a loving heart but battered spirit. She had been through so much hurt in her young life but her dedication to helping others was an inspiration to behold. From smart mouth youths to frisky old women she gave of herself wholeheartedly and touched so many lives. Ryker was a loner with a bad boy exterior but a fragile heart he kept closely guarded. When you find something special, it's hard to let go and Casey Hagen, yet again brought her A game for these exceptional characters. London, Ryker and Ms. Hagen, did Carly Phillips proud. ( )

Loved this book! Football player Ryker has partied way to hard believing that what he does off the field has no bearing on what he does on the field. He's given a rude awakening when he is told the only team that will give him a chance is the Miami Thunder and only if he keeps his nose clean. London Abbott is a librarian & is trying to turn a reading initiative into a successful program. She doesn't have time to babysit a spoiled, playboy, football player. What will happen when these two start spending time together?

Casey's characters are so well thought out & realistic! This plot line is fast moving, which as a novella it has to be. However, you don't miss out on any of the character development like I've experienced with other novellas. The characters, detail & plot draw you in from the beginning and there are enough twists to keep you interested until the end. I would love a full length book regarding these characters to give us more information! This book is another example of a sexy, well written, thought out book that fits perfectly with the Dare world. Great read & value for the price! A great introduction to Casey's writing. ( )
