Casey Thurston is a book reviewer. The book she is reading at her desk this afternoon is boring. Just occasionally through the mind-numbing descriptive there is a nugget of interest, then nothing. Taking the book home to finish she is shocked her apartment has been broken into and that the events recorded in the book are played out inside her apartment. Afraid, she goes to the 107th Precinct to report the break in and meets Detective Nick Stryker. Stryker knows Casey has a serious problem, a stalker. When murder follows he must find the author.
When I sat down to read this book I didn't expect that I would have to finish before I could do anything else. This is a well-written murder mystery with many threads coming together. As this is the first in the series we are introduced to characters that I hope will continue to develop in future Nick Stryker stories. ( )
