A fairly slow start to the 'A Time To' arch - but still entertaining enough a page turner to not recommend skipping. As a fan of TNG, how can you not read this arch - designed to make clear the timeline up to Nemesis (also the death of Data), all the more valued by fandom seeing as Star Trek got a reboot with the success of the recent movie. Where does this leave the cast of TNG, other than rooted in an uncertain future of the new TOS. I loved TNG, better than TOS and the various spin-offs - and I am eager to continue with this series. A return of Wesley, Data and Picard on trial, an interesting and fertile backdrop - namely the mess left behind after one of the most gruesome battles of the Dominion war. Good stuff, just not all that groundbreaking by itself. I expect good things both from the follow-up novel, and the series which they began. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Overall this was simply an okay book. Not a promising start actually but since I have read and enjoyed star trek books from some of the authors who wrote later books in the series I hope to slog through the rest.
As to why only three stars, well the story seemed a little unusual. Maybe there is context that I am unaware of but the whole battle graveyard thing I had a hard time with. Maybe some much needed answers will present themselves with the second book.
I also felt that some of the characters were off as well. In particular there were parts with Picard or with Beverly that just did not see true to character. Specifically with Picard towards the end of the book and the situation he is put into I felt his attitudes and responses just were not how I would expect Picard to respond.
**potential spoiler (at least until you read the first chapter)** The appearance of Wesley as a traveler I did find interesting. I would have liked to learn more than what was given not only about him in becoming a traveler but in whole traveler race and why they do what they do. Again, maybe a little bit more will come. But it was interesting in and of itself to be sure.
