Leaving behind his family, his best friend, Rafe, and Charlene, who had feelings for Wade she never allowed herself to feel. Years in Nashville quickly hardened the dreamy guy who just wanted to sing and hang out with his dog, Melody. His success has given him more than enough money, even if he knows he'll never be able to compete with his hometown hero big brother. But after Coach Carr's heart attack, Wade comes home to help the man who helped him make the decision to chase his dreams all those years ago. I was a bit disappointed with this book. It was to be about two things I love, football and music. There was very little of either in this story. I was happy there was a cameo appearance by Jazz and Gray from the Lost in Oblivion series but would have liked to seen more of the interaction between Wade and Gray. Throughout the book I was wondering what had actually happened around the first time Wade had left that had caused all the tension. Perhaps a prologue of when Wade said "goodbye" to Charlene would have provided a lot of answers and a background for the story.

The concept of the book is a good one but lacked some of the detail to make it great. I think this story would have been better as a longer book with more interaction between all of the characters as opposed to just Wade and Charlene.

ARC received from the author in exchange for an honest review. ( )
