Nothing about this novel made me want to cry, or laugh, or anything else that bordered on feelings. It was totally incapable of wresting a single emotion of any kind from me. It went, sadly, exactly where I expected it to go. There was not even the element of surprise. Two of my friends highly recommended this as a fast, fun read. Only $2.99 at Amazon. I hesitated. I know this genre is one that I like the least. I so seldom find something I like in these clipped, fast-paced, unrealistic novels. I am making myself a solemn promise that I will listen to that inner voice from here out. I do not like this kind of novel. I do not like this kind of movie. I do not mean to ever waste my time on this kind of book again, which is not to say that it isn’t fine for all those millions of readers out there who do enjoy it and want to read it. Just not for me. “She is beautiful. Magnetic, really, the kind of individual who draws people with her idiosyncratic hair and heterochromatic eyes.” ― Mary Kubica, Don't You Cry 3.5 stars. I had read "The Good girl" and not liked it at all. So I was wary going into this one . Luckily, it turned out to be a really good read. I enjoyed Don't you Cry far more then The Good Girl and was very happy that the issues I had with Good Girl were not present here. First off, this book is compulsively readable. It just is. I got drawn in right away. And another thing is the characters are really interesting. There are also two mysteries going on at the same time which could have worked not so well but the author really does it so well here. I was interested in both stories and flew through the pages. I wound up finishing this in one night. I must single out Quinn as she is such a warm funny character and is very human. I adored her. Everything just flowed in this book and though it wont change your life, it is a well written extremely interesting mystery/thriller that packs an awesome punch. I wish for .5 stars because I would actually give this 3.5 stars. The reason I would not give it four stars is because of the ending which I did not love, particularly in one of the two mysteries but I still would recommend this as it is a quick and fun read. 3.5 stars. Quinn’s roommate, Esther is missing. As Quinn investigates she comes to believe Esther was trying to kill her. Meanwhile, Alex living in another state, meets a mysterious girl, who won’t tell him much about herself. The parallel stories finally converge and Esther is found with the help of Quinn’s friend. This is an interesting psychological thriller with a surprise ending. This did take a while to get into and the story seems unrelated until you get into it. This was not her best book. I did like the ending. Some what unbelievable. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

The author does a great job of leading us down the path of two different stories, one told by Quinn, who has a missing roommate, and the other, Alex, a teenage boy with a bad home life. You know their lives are going to connect, you just can't figure out how it will happen.
And even if you DO figure it out, you won't be able to figure out how it all ends, because right down to the last few pages, it will keep surprising you.
Another great suspense story by Mary Kubica! ( )
