This is a great little collection of first-hand accounts of June 6, 1944 from the German defenders' perspective. It's interesting to hear Nazi propaganda about German (defending a unified Europe), American (controlled by Jewish bankers seeking one world government), and British (run by Freemasons) aims, and how thoroughly rank-and-file soldiers had swallowed the propaganda. It's also interesting to hear how soldiers interacted with evolving military technology. The three stars is only because there is no larger picture of the war, just these small, single perspectives, which might be helped by some analysis and interpretive materials. ( )
