"This series just keeps on getting better." - Amazon reviewIn the world of high-stakes gambling, a killer lurks...It's springtime in Denver, and private investigator Reed Ferguson is less than a week away from his wedding. When an old flame, Alicia Ferrigam, shows up asking for help, things quickly go awry. Alicia plays in a high-stakes poker tournament, and she believes someone is cheating. She asks Reed to find out who, but before he can identify the cheater, a mysterious death occurs at the tournament. Suddenly Reed finds himself on a suspect list almost as long as the wedding guest list. With his fiancée Willie spinning from pre-wedding jitters, and his parents and future in-laws arriving in two days, Reed juggles to balance wedding commitments and the search to find the killer. But can he solve the crime and get himself off the suspect list before wedding bells ring?Great for fans who love a fast-paced, humorous read, without a lot of swearing or sex.More Great Reviews of this private investigator series:Kirkus Reviews:The promising kickoff to Pawlish's comic mystery series, starring far-from-perfect PI Reed Ferguson. Pawlish earns high marks for plot construction, with twists and turns naturally unfolding as Ferguson, inexperienced but not incapable, feels his way through the case. A good-humored mystery series worth following.5 star review:Oh how I've missed the Sam Spade and Philip Marlowe characters that saw me with a flashlight in the dead of night flipping pages to see what happened next. Poor Reed is getting married, and has been told no new cases in the week before the wedding. So of course ex-girlfriend Alicia needs help, but just for one evening. Life is never that easy.
Apart from the annoying bits about the wedding preparation it was an enjoyable read. ( )

This is another wonderful entry in the superb Reed Ferguson mystery series by Renee Pawlish. In this one, Reed must tackle an old girlfriend, a new femme fatale, tux fittings, a high stakes poker game, future in-laws, a murderous BMW and a plethora of snakes, all in time to make it to the altar. A fun, fast-paced and humorous mystery, with a touch of hard-boiled noir, you won't want to miss.

**I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review** ( )
