I have a history of picking the wrong guy. Gay? Player? Momma's boy? Check, check and check. Now I can't stop fantasizing about one of the customers at the coffee shop I work at between classes. It's just a harmless crush, right? It's not like I ever see this guy outside of the coffee shop. It's not like I'm going to see him while attempting to get birth control at the student clinic. While wearing a paper gown. While sitting on an exam table. Because he's the doctor. Shoot. Me. But what if, for once, the man I've had the dirtiest, most scandalous fantasies about turned out to be everything but wrong?… (más)

Effettive tre stelle e mezzo.
Un inizio un po’ lento e svogliato ma, fortunatamente, proseguendo la storia acquista un certo brio tanto da farmi decidere di arrivare alla fine. Di certo non è un libro esaltante ma nella sostanza piacevole e leggibile. ( )

It's hard to pick a rating for this book. Parts I really enjoyed, parts could have used some improvement. I liked that the hero wasn't all damaged and brooding. I liked that he had a real job rather than "rich CEO". His character wasn't one hundred percent consistent however and frankly his dirty talk could have used some help. I love me some dirty talk but his was too harsh and demeaning. I can never find the hero calling the heroine a dirty bitch in any way hot.

I really enjoyed the heroine. I liked that she was pretty funny and was confident most of the time although she could have been more adult about her response to the evil other woman. She was oddly stupid in places though. Why did she not ask where her date was from the get go when Luke broke up her date? Why did she never confront the date later? Just took the hero's word for everything. There were other instances too like getting drunk with Boyd.

I liked the overall story but I kept waiting for some greater conflict to happen. And it never really did. I felt that the story could have used more description and maybe some of the sex scenes could have bee replaced with action of some sort.

All this sounds like I didn't enjoy the book when actually I had a fine time reading it. The author has a lot of potential and the books was a fun read. ( )

What’s to like ? Our MC is a virgin, and wants to punch her V-card with some college dude. She goes to her school health clinic for birth control where the Gynecologist is the guy she lusts after at her job, (barista) Does she reschedule with a different DR ? No she spreads and flashes then has a climax while he’s performing his pelvic exam with and elder nurse in the room. EEeewwww ! Then later while she’s on her lose it date, he’s there in the restaurant where he interferes, sending her date home. He’s then telling her what to do, what to think , what to say, where to go, where the hell are you ?…they are hooked up, he’s controlling, saying she’s his no one else is to touch her..he get angry, he’s crude, his gentle moments don’t make up for his dominating jerkwadness. No, not a sexy fun read, I was scared for her

It was demeaning to women, disgusting with the exam, and such a backwards story. This powerful Doctor from a rich snobby family, pops the cherry of a student at the college where he volunteers for pelvis probs, then he tells her she is his and no one will touch her ??!? (Oh F that dude) He’s asking her Where she was , who she was with, freaking control freak ! Calling her a slut, a dirty slut, etc I can take dirty talk but to me his talk was cruel/crude. This author glorified all the horrors women face in abusive relationships. Oh she tried to make it seem like the girl was all for it, (making it even worse) she was being trained warped into a life of doing what he wanted. ( )

This review can also be found on my blog.

there are a lot of... problematic elements to this, but if those don't bother you then it's a good read! super steamy, well-written, and the MC's friends were a blast. i'd read the second book in the series but i think it's a side relationship from this book that i had a loooot of issues with that i can't personally overlook. i'd read other works by Jana Aston, though!

"But Luke...he makes my panties wet just ordering coffee."

I am a huge sucker for romantic comedies. Give me a dose of smart woman and hot doctor for my reading - romcom heaven. And debut author, Jana Aston does not disappoint. For many of us there is that man you daydream about, not ever going to be a reality, but when you need images, his image will come first. Sophia is a young woman looking toward college graduation and eventual adult world crap. Her daydream man orders coffee everyday. She's in a perfect bubble until oops he's also her gynecologist?

There are so many things I loved about this story. It's got witty dialogue. Smart main characters. Over the top best friend minus the tact filter. And steam? Whoa Dr. "uptight' Luke, lets loose in the bedroom. This is one of these fun, lose yourself reads. I wish we got the opportunity for more in Luke's head, so many opportunities where I wished this was an alternating POV rather than relying on Sophia's POV. However, It's a romance/comedy readers dream.

I highly recommend this debut authors work. I'll look forward to upcoming offering she delivers after she's finished with her day job. 4.5 stars out of 5
