This book is cute, but in my mind, it's not as good as "Thirty-Two and Going on Spinster." I could probably re-read it, but I doubt it'll ever be a "favorite". ( )

Set in NYC and written in the first person narrative, sassy Bridgette Reynolds takes the reader along for the ride as she plans to win back ex-boyfriend Adam's heart, only to have her plans turned upside down when she unexpectedly runs into Ian Davies, her ex-college best friend turned boyfriend who broke her heart. Suddenly Bridgette is feeling all sorts of things that she never had planned. As Bridgette struggles with her feelings for Adam and Ian, her romantic relationships and friendships are filled with drama, trials and tribulations, and awkward predicaments that are endearing and humorous.

Set in the present and intermixed with flashbacks to Bridgette's college relationship with Ian, the reader is in for a treat when they read this lighthearted story. It has enough family, friendship, and workplace drama, and a subtle romantic triangle that keeps the reader engaged and turning the pages. I really loved Bridgette's witty personality, it was so much fun to follow her story. I found myself either laughing or cringing at the quirky antics and awkward situations that she found herself in as she struggled to find romance and happiness. From her supportive co-workers/best friends Ashley and Justin, to her lovable grandmother, to Adam's crazy Italian family, Bridgette's story will surely tickle your funny bone in a hot New York minute!

Speak Now Or Forever Hold Your Peace is a delightful chick lit tale that will tickle your funny bone.

Bridgette’s life sounds like a soap opera. In fact, much of her man troubles were mirrored on the soap opera that she and her gram loved to watch together.

Just when Bridgette thinks her boyfriend is going to propose to her, he dumps her. She would do anything to win him back, especially since his parents consider her part of their family.

Bridgette and her friends Ashley and Justin and her gram will have you laughing as you watch them weave their way through the explosive field of heartbreak and love. The author does an excellent job of showing how Bridgette matures and discovers whether Adam really is her one true love or not. It’s easy to relate to her feelings as she tries to sort out how she really feels about Ian and Adam and what to do about it. I was surprised by her choice.

One of the characters I really liked was gram. She certainly is like no grandmother I know of. I found her to be quite hilarious and perhaps a little more risqué than one would expect a grandmother would be, which was partly why she was amusing.

Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace was a fun book to read. It was a great light read and made a nice escape from the stress of everyday life. I gave this book 5 stars out of 5.
