I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

i have read this book with my 10 years old daughter........although her father is american we need to improve her reading in english and so here we are!!
what an intriguing and well crafted plot!!! i was a little bit worried that she could be too young for the book but she was hooked to it!!!
my daughter says that she loved all the twists in the plot, the nice and funny relation between the two sisters and for the fact of find out the fairy tales characters in it!!
she was a little bit tired at the end ( quite a long book) but was ok!!
now waiting for the paperback!! ( )

Once Upon a Zombie is a brilliant and unique twist on classic characters that I grew up with. I have to be honest, at first, I was quite skeptical about reading this, as I wasn't sure how one would be able to pull off a story like this with some of my beloved favorites all zombified. I mean, what type of plot could you have with "zombie princesses?"... (more via website) ( )

Charmingly ghoulish, quirky and action-packed.

A pleasing read featuring many age-old favorite characters, Caitlin is adorable, little sister Natalie is a riot, the princesses are champion. The story is simultaneously touching, humorous, and full of all of the gross-outs you expect in a zombie story.

A great beginning to a series that promises a fresh new take on zombies stories.

Fairytale Retelling (with zombies!)...
Review by: Avalon Palm

I enjoy many different genres of books, both fiction and nonfiction, but one of my favorite types of books would be fairy-tale retellings. I have read many of these types of books, some multiple times. Just like the fairy-tales themselves, these stories never get old. This book is a wonderful addition to the genre of fairy-tale retellings.

The story begins with a young girl: Caitlyn. After Caitlyn’s mother disappeared four years ago, Caitlyn began to suffer from anxiety. Now, after Caitlyn, along with her father, and smart-alec sister moved to London, she is panicking about the upcoming school dance: and if that wasn’t enough, she realizes a connection between mysterious sighting located in graveyards in Italy, Germany, Scotland and America. As she needs to write a blog page for Unexplainablenews.com, she decides to go and decipher what exactly is the cause of these sightings.

I don’t want to give too much away, but don’t worry: there are zombies to spare!

This book is an excellent choice for anyone from ages 8-14, and also good for anyone who just wants to kick back and enjoy a kid’s book again. If you do decide to read this book (which you really should) then get ready for the ever wonderful mix of zombies and fairy-tales.
