This is actually perhaps a 2.5 for me, but I'm rounding up. I liked both of these characters in their supporting roles in the first book, but this one was just really hard for me to feel grounded in. Many of the plot points are sort of ridiculous, and even much of the rest strained believability. I don't need everything to be realistic, but I do like stories to be *buyable* and at least somewhat based in reality. She's waving a silver candlestick about in the cut-throat part of town and no one even mentions it? At one point she actually hides her *handkerchief* because it's attracting notice, but somehow they're all blind to actual precious metals? He has a price on his head and sometimes the villains seem to have GPS tracking on him despite all attempts to dodge and hide from them, but then he just goes out for an evening of drinks and dancing at a public venue in the same neighborhood he's been hunted in and somehow the villains are none the wiser?? A stray dog saves them from a grisly death at the last moment like *6* different times...?? In what universe?! A couple instances can totally slide but this started to feel like plot points were determined while drunk and then never cleaned up in editing. Also, the heroine had just appalling judgement, verging on TSTL, and, though I'm not usually one to complain about frequent intimacies, this did actually start to feel repetitive and like it was 3/4 of all the bonding they had together- so their already very short *two-day acquaintance* made the sudden love in the end seem all the more unlikely and unearned. This book edged into camp and cheesiness for me actually. Not up to par with the other books I've read by this author! (

So if you're a Disney movie fan, you will probably recognize the first half of this story. I don't want to give it away, but when it hit me, I laughed. This isn't not a retelling of the movie, however, and there are enough differences to make it fresh. I enjoyed the OTP and the way they fell for each other, but the ending felt a little rushed, which is why I'm dropping my rate to 4/5. I am glad that they did't go for the usual cliche with the ending, but the chosen alternative was also a little hard to believe. I still love the way Galen mixes classes and awareness of issues like crime and poverty. (

This is the second book in Covent Garden Cubs series and it’s filled with much adventure, romance and danger as our heroine Susannah lands into underworld of London courtesy of our hero Gideon.

I loved these two to pieces! They were so incompatible at the beginning that I thought these two would never work together, but fool I!

Once more Shana Galen gifts us with wonderful characters and a vastly entertaining story. Watching our heroine grow from a naïve society miss into a strong woman was a pleasure.

As for the hero, Gideon is now among the one of my all time favorites heroes.

If you’re looking for a fun fast-paced adventure filled with plenty of humor, yet delightfully romantic, look no more! You have to pick this one up!
