This collection has several more shorts and one shot then the previous two collections and that isn’t a bad thing. Harley’s zaniness and care for her friends shines though each story. For the most part this version of her seems more interested in being someone that does good for the things she cares about even if going about it the wrong way. I know I will continue to read this if they keep up with the way they are writing her. Digital review copy provided by the publisher through Edelweiss Harley Quinn is back with more mischief and mayhem following her than ever. An eventful year includes the kidnapping of Poison Ivy with Harley coming to her rescue, an auctioning off of a date with millionaire Bruce Wayne that Harley just has to win, and an overabundance of pets that results in a Christmas to remember when Harley tries to find homes for them all. With so much going on (including her psychiatric work, the roller derby, and being a landlady), Harley comes to realize she needs to hire an assistant to help her out. But one assistant isn't good enough for Harley Quinn -- she needs a gang of Harleys to help her fight crime! This book was keeping in pace with the tongue-in-cheek fun of the previous two books in the series. The stories are all fine, and I continue to love Harley and the other characters. However, it seemed like the artwork really varied a lot. Most of it did not look in line with the previous two books, and that really hampered my enjoyment of the comic. The last story about the gang of Harleys is clearly a lead-in to the next book, which I was planning on reading anyway, but it did feel like it ended a little too open. This third volume in the New 52 Harley Quinn series collects Harley Quinn numbers 14-16, Annual #1, Holiday Special #1, and Valentine's Day Special #1. The special issues are self-contained stories that simply have fun with the character, while the regular numbered issues feature Harley Quinn struggling to balance work as a landlord, psychiatrist, roller derby star, and still find time for her self, resulting in her decision to hire assistants. This continues Amanda Conner's comedic styling of Harley and is one of the more entertaining New 52 DC Comics series. I received this from Edelweiss and DC Comics in exchange for an honest review. The biggest problem with this volume is that fully half of it is one-shots and specials, with the other half three issues from the monthly run. And there’s not much of a story/plot in those three issues. The “plot” is simple: Harley puts out an ad for a gang to help her stop crime in Gotham (yes, seriously). There's a new guy she likes, but can’t seem to date because life (working at the nursing home, playing roller derby, and being a landlord) keeps getting in the way. Amanda Conner seems to struggle with Harley’s character, so much so that this Harley doesn’t seem like the “real” Harley. This struggle is so great that a major plot point is Harley finding time to feed her rescue animals. That’s a long way towards “normal” after being The Joker’s insane sidekick. I’m not sure I care for the artwork, either, which is bright and colorful, in extreme contrast to the other stories set in Gotham City. This brightness just seems wrong for this dark and dingy place. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"Harley was certain she could have it all: She could be the world's best landlord, protect Coney Island from the scum of the Earth, woo Mason Macabre, work her day job as a psychiatrist, volunteer at the puppy shelter...but that's a whole lot of spinning plates, and eventually they're bound to start breaking! What happens when a psychopath cracks up? Is it possible for Harley to go even more insane?! Collects HARLEY QUINN #14-15, HARLEY QUINN ANNUAL #1, HARLEY QUINN VALENTINE'S DAY SPECIAL #1, and HARLEY QUINN HOLIDAY SPECIAL #1"-- No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

But first let's start off with Poison Ivy losing her memory and Harley is trying, in her own way, to help get Ivy's memory back. Since Ivy isn't really Sleeping Beauty doesn't this really work.
Oh, and here is the big bad...head that is behind Ivy's memory loss. He is actually just a misunderstood...head.
But the best part is at the Charity gala where Bruce Wayne is auctioned off. Of course, the gala is crashed by two bad men trying to rob it. But luckily for Bruce is Harley there to save him.
And, of course, she just has to end the night with a kiss...
or two...
All and all a truly wonderful volume loved it very much and I'm so looking forward to reading the next one. I just hope that Harley's puddin' is in it! ;)
