Ghandi is an iconic thought leader in principles of non-violence and mass political organizing. I find some of his insights about the importance of non-violence to be deeply insightful, and of course his writing was enormously influential on the later work of Martin Luther King Jr. Stylistically, however, I find him tiresome as he suffers from the same didactic finger-wagging that I find in the Koran and what other limited Indian literature I've read. In short, he has great ideas but he can't help but deliver them in a paternalistic style and thus he misses an opportunity to warmly invite the reader to share his perspective. It's a lot of "you should" and "should not" sort of writing. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Assembled with skill and sensitivity by social activist Homer A. Jack, this selection of brief and incisive quotations range from religion and theology, personal and social ethics, service, and international and political affairs, to the family, education, culture, Indian problems, and Gandhi's most original concept, satyagraha -- group nonviolent direct action.
