It seems a bit old fashioned, (like something I would have read in the 80’s) and a bit long for the level it states its is. What is the worst part is all the front matter. There are pages and pages of things that explain the story or ask the reader to pay attention to something. But this front matter is written at a higher level than the rest of the story. Then it repeats again in the back matter with more stuff to do or look for, that does not match the reading level of the book. It has the possibility to frustrate the reader before they actually get to the story. ( ) This IS classic Munsch, indeed! Angela, is a five year lost at the airport, who inadvertently steals (and flies!) an airplane (Yikes!). Miraculously, she lands safely, but destroys the plane. As a result, she promises her dad never to fly another airplane again. Well, we catch up with Angela several years later and she doesn't become a doctor or a truck driver or a nurse...you guessed it! My little guys always crack up with this one! Recommended for Preschool to Grade 2 levels. I bought this one for my niece, because she looks a little like the protagonist and they have similar names. Both my nieces like this one, probably because it's so absurd. Angela inadvertently, at the age of five, steals an airplane. With help from the tower she manages to land... sorta... well, they say any landing you walk away from is a good landing! At the end, we're told that she grew up to become an airplane pilot, a fitting career. The whole scenario, especially the dialog, is absurdly unrealistic, and it has my nieces in stitches every time. After all, if you or I crashed a plane, you can bet our dad would do more than just ask us to promise not to do it again! I can't recommend this one enough. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
