NOT well written, but in busy week I had to have a history overview and this was handy and fast. I did get an excellent overview and it made me realized I needed to focus on specific eras. Good starting book. This books was published again in 1999 under the name of Libraries through the ages, 1999, same publisher. I did not read that. ( )
