The story was fine, but the publishers did a poor job of Americanizing the British text. Examples include a reference to bowling in baseball (clearly the original sport was cricket) and some references to France that remain while others have been changed to reference Canada instead. ( )

Get ready for a new series for 7-9 year olds and cat lovers as who can resist your pet cat turning into a superhero and saving the world's potato crops from the dastardly Count Backwards. The story line is delightfully implausible, inventive, and satisfying. Illustrations by Jim Ford are appropriate and do not give away too much of the plot.
