After "stumbling across" [b:Promise You'll Look After Him|24723134|Promise You'll Look After Him|DiscontentedWinter|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1422458000s/24723134.jpg|44349312] I found out there are more fanfis about Stiles and Derek, and since I liked "Promise" so much, and even though I have never seen a single episode of Teen Wolf, I was curious about these guys and decided to read all the available stories by this author. I am not disappointed. The glimpses if Stiles, who he is and how he thinks, that came across in "Promise" are fully revealed in this story. The way he thinks, his logic and the way he puts things, are simply hilarious. All his fears about suddenly finding out he is in love with a guy he thought he hated, a werewolf no less, are right there out in the open. And Stiles is a very intelligent teenager, so seeing him so emotionally tangled up is very touching. Of course, he is pretty preoccupied with sex and all it entails, and being sixteen, with a father who is the town sheriff, that must be a nightmare. Derek is an amazing guy, and the ongoing jokes Stiles makes (in his head, mind you) about Stiles's eyebrows made me laugh. But Derek also has admirable control, and he has clearly appointed himself Stiles's protector. Except he is as affected by the developing romance between him and Stiles as the other way around, and being twenty-two and needing to be "sensible", I think is just as hard as not knowing what to do at all, the situation Stiles finds himself in. Between all the teenage angst and the crazy case they need to solve, plus all the supernatural stuff that goes on, this is a suspenseful story that definitely grabbed and held my interest. And even if, like me, you don't know the characters from the series they are based on, if you like horny teenagers just beginning to figure out life, and if you enjoy werewolf stories with a touch of unsolved crime, give this one a go. I'm pretty sure you'll find it amusing. I think it is hilarious, full of all kinds of tension, and very, very hot at the same time. So Lisa Henry just ruined my Sterek reading experience going forward. Seriously - is there an author out there who could top this? [b:Balloon Animals Are Awesome|23905284|Balloon Animals Are Awesome|DiscontentedWinter|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1418954406s/23905284.jpg|43512702] is what I imagine Sterek would be like if John Hughes directed Teen Wolf. Most brilliant f-ing Stiles, I've read thus far. And the clever lines - paragraphs, pages - I nearly high lighted the whole book. (And I humbly apologize to my GR friends for bombing their Updates page with quotes from this book - I didn't even post all of the ones I highlighted.) Laugh out loud funny, fan your self sexy, even grab a few tissues for some misty eyes, this Sterek has it all. This is a five star Sterek, because the reader can connect with the excitement for the fandom that the author wants to share in every single word. This was written by someone who knows her audience. This was written by someone who reads with their audience, someone who converses with their audience, graciously accepts praise from them and graciously accepts criticism from them. But above all this was written by someone who dumped all her love for Sterek into 67 pages of fandom to be shared with everyone. No matter the venue. No matter whether the reader is a connoisseur or casual dabbler of Sterek. No matter if the reader rated this Sterek a five or a one - or rated it at all. No matter what - she wrote it and wasn't bashful about sharing it with all. Because that's what you do when, in the words of Cheryl Strayed, you "write like a motherf*cker." Ms. Henry, and all Sterek authors out there, keep writing like motherf*ckers. It's for that that we thank you. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
