This book is full of excitement and adventure, this children's picture story book tells a charming story about a snow man that comes to life and reads a story to all the animals in the forest. While taking a nap a rabbit hiding in his hat runs off with Mr. Snowman's hat and the adventure begins. The story is told through beautiful pictures with artwork created with 6B graphite pencil, colored pencil, chalk pastel, pixels, china marker, crayon, ink, watercolor, transparent tape, and kneaded eraser on paper. Although this picture book has no words it is easy to follow from page to page waiting to see what happens next. A great children's book brimming with charm and moments of gentle humor, fun for all ages. ( )

I love this wordless picture book! I have used it with English learners to teach emotions. I love the illustrations the author paints. The characters all have a depth and shadow to them, showing a lot of movement throughout the page. The snowman is very expressive throughout the book and I love his rosy cheeks! I like how much characterization is shown even though there are no words. The snowman’s best friends are helpful and loving. I like the suspense of the novel. For example, the reader does not know how the creatures will cross the valley. Turn the page, oh there’s a tree bridge! Also, I like that the rabbit was not a bad guy after all; He was merely trying to retrieve a book to read to his family. There is nothing to dislike about this book! It is a cute, fast read which serves the purpose of teaching children “sharing is caring.” The snowman and his friends find the book and learn read together. ( )
